Bought this on the back of this review a couple of weeks ago. Now usually you know a reviewer is being a little (or a lot) kind to the product because it was given free, or to build a relationship for more products in the future. You accept that as a fact of life. And then when it comes to a person as rich and famous as Adam Savage you expect the usual Hollywood reluctance to say anything negative about anything in their sphere. Because that's their life. But what sold me on this was the joy on Adams face, the childish delight in his eyes when he switched it on and heard that joyous power up noise. I bought it soon after and I'll tell you what, for the near €170 it took to get this thing into my hands, I have not regretting it for a second. This thing is spectacular in every way. It is just beautiful and the sound effects are weighty and authentic. It will fill you with pure nostalgia and excitement just holding it. And then you let your 5 yo son hold it, and see the joy on his face as he blasts imaginary slimers. Some moments are worth any amount of money. If you love Ghostbusters and are on the fence, trust a stranger on a youtube comment, you will never regret this purchase.

@NotThatGuy_YepThatGuy3 жыл бұрын
@@Unhallowed_Saint right, but the fire mode changes have nothing to do with the boson dart, and he was referencing the fire mode changes. The boson dart is just the powered shot for the basic proton stream. The Meson Colider is the final alt fire mode which is accessed from the orange button, not the boson dart. You can however simulate the boson dart a bit by tapping the intensify button while on proton stream mode as opposed to holing it. I remember so many toys growing up where it was clear the toy designer had made no effort to make it like the object on the show it was from. I loved the Playmates series of Star Trek toys. They are the first ones I can remember that actually looked like someone put effort into them. The phasers, disruptors, d'k tahg, tricorders, etc. did such a good job of balancing play and cost considerations with feeling like you were holding something from the series. The Kenner Ghostbuster toys of the same era, though...were a lot less fun. They were based on the cartoon, to be fair, but even then there was barely even a passing resemblance. I'm so glad to see a good option for Ghostbusters fans finally.

Loved this product, can't wait for their full pack, especially since they made this wand so affordable for its quality. I think my only issue I personally had with it, was the display stand. It sadly doesn't last long as the stand pieces that hold up the wand were not properly enforced to hold the weight of the prop. Had a scare where the thing rolled off the shelf onto my desk cause the stand just gave out under it. Thankfully it did not damage the prop as this thing is shockingly durable thank goodness.

I found out recently that the "Belt-Hanger " is not for hanging on your belt. During making the first film, the busters were having difficulty removing the wands from the pack as the metal wedge was sitting in a position that would not let them slide it out with ease. The hook was added to push the wand away from the pack at slightly different angle which helped the busters to remove it more smoothly.

Just a thing to remember the green knob to release the locking mechanism does in some of them start to wear out the wire inside the wand (just from how its made) so be aware connection can become loose from over use. Also the hook (as you say hanger) was originally placed there as a spacer so the wand sat at a angle and such a way that it doesn't rub and is easy to grab from the pack afterlife crew thought the same initially and then did some leg work to find that it was placed there in a pinch to fix issue of removing the wand from pack. This is something Hasbro went above and beyond along with the videogame sound modes more bang for your buck. I painted my stand to feel like something that has been sitting there for a long time and did some silverish edging on the no ghost logo. I also cheated and did not 3d print or buy one of the grip to replace the ugly mold they have on there wand. I just kept the bottom half of the mold grip and carved it to a desired hand grip then put the gaffers tape over it. I heard you made it up to Fanexpo great to see you here, I was working at a booth and had no time to check in on events at the small one off event they ran because of pandemic home to see you next time
