$30 Nidage Wireless Endoscope: amzn.to/3eih4x2
Adam marvels at the advances in electronics miniaturization on display in his recently acquired endoscope. This is a flexible wireless camera with a built-in light that you can snake into hard-to-reach places and crevices around your home or workshop. It sends HD video you watch remotely on your phone, and this model has the smallest diameter of any endoscope Adam has seen--plus it's only $30!

Hi Adam. Short story about my boroscope I use in auto engine inspection. Some years ago we were having our kitchen completely remodeled and while outside in our back yard, I noticed a baby rabbit in trouble. So, I brought it in the house, made a box for it and made sure the rabbit was as comfortable as possible. Well, we awoke the next morning to find the rabbit was not in the box. Now, the top was folded in so we thought it would not get out. We searched the whole house and nothing. We were going crazy, don't want a rabbit loose in our home. Then I thought, I have a boroscope, let me look under and behind the lower cabinets. Low and behold, there it was , between two side by side cabinets. One way in and one way out , up and over the kick panel. We got the little rabbit out unharmed but only because of my boroscope. I love my boroscopes so much I have two different types. Flex shaft and solid shaft.

I actually used a USB endoscope for my Big Daddy cosplay! It's way too difficult to see out of the head, so I took inspiration from Adam's Totoro and mounted a camera to the body that plugs into my phone. Super convenient, hardly noticeable and the picture quality is good enough to let you walk around comfortably

Even now, I still use it for completely stupid stuff. My favourite was attaching it to my Dog's lead/collar(so the lead carried the weight and not my Dog's back), it was fun to see roughly what my little Doggo sees when around the house and out for a walk. Used it as a rear view camera once, on myself, and spent a few hours trying to live my life backwards xD Seriously, get one, and just be a child about using it, you will love your life :)

Just charged my 5.5mm/10M/5mp this evening in case I need it for a job tomorrow morning (only cost around $50AU a couple of months ago) and your vid just popped up in my notifications...strange how the world works?? ...A customers vehicle is losing or consuming coolant somewhere so possibly a head gasket leak. I Have a similar app.style one I link to my phone, so I'll take a look down the spark plug holes...so much easier to use than all-in-one units from recent times you mentioned (I separated the screen from my old one and added an extension lead between the screen and hand piece to make it a little more practical but it's nothing compared to these new wifi ones) also sooo good now we can take still pics and vids with them too...I use it to capture all sorts of stuff, and find it really handy to be able to send footage or pics directly to my customers, or post the pics/vids here for the whole world to see if I choose...technology nowadays is such an amazing thing👍🇦🇺

@@BrockHenry Hi Brock, yeh I figured the longer the better since I want to use it for all sorts of things, only downfall is controlling the camera head might be a challenge at full extention, the head isn't remote controlled etc. Mine is a china product, but works well, came with the common accessories, short charge cable, 45° mirror, magnet and hook. Not sure if I can post a direct link here but I'll type it down below. I'm in West Australia, I got mine off eBay via N.S.W. I searched under 'wireless inspection camera' and plenty came up. You'll need to go through and read the descriptions to select the one you want..at the moment most sellers are out of stock on the 10m/5.5mm/5mp but most offer the same in 2M or 5M still, or just order ex-china if not in a hurry. This seller below is in South Australia (bellashop2019) still has all types in stock, hopefully this link below works for you, I tried it and it worked for me from here. www.ebay.com.au/itm/174449045130

SUCH an awesome tool to have! A buddy of mine threw his keys onto his dash, and they fell through a vent. We wouldn't have been able to get to them without taking the entire dash apart. So worth it, especially when they're so cheap now!

Bought one of those a while ago to save some money and give myself a home colonoscopy. Kidding, but if you knew what you were doing, it seems possible. : ) I bought one a year ago and it's come in handy a few times. It's one of those tools you won't need often, but when you do need it, you'll be glad you have it. I dropped a small bolt into my motorcycle engine and had to find and retrieve it. Without the endoscope I never would have been able to do that without taking the engine apart. Also good for examining cylinders and other parts in the engine.

After watching this video, I went out and bought one of the endoscope he reviews. It came today and I figured out how to get it working with both my iPhone and iPad Pro. Then something occurred to me and I tried taking the thing out to my travel trailer, to see if I could use it as a backup camera. Imagine my surprise when it worked, though I was standing right next to it, so it might not work from 35 feet away when I'm in my truck pulling the trailer. Then there is the matter of figuring out how to find a place to mount this thing inside the trailer so that only the camera itself is outside. And as the company that makes this little camera doesn't seem to have a functional web site, I have no idea who to ask about developing my idea. Still, I suppose I can work on the hole in the rear of the camera first, so I can play around with the idea. Thanks, Adam and Tested for making my summer trips more interesting.

Advice for anyone thinking of buying one of these: - Buy one with a screen, not one that relies on your phone. Otherwise in a few years, once the software / drivers are no longer updated, or your phone OS updates and no longer supports this device, it will become completely useless. Plus it's easier, more reliable, and less of a hassle. - Buy one of the dual-camera (usually called 'dual lens') versions. The second camera on the side will be extremely useful, possibly more than the main camera. Mirrors are useless, you can't see anything with the glare from the lights. And if you're looking into a wall, the side camera means you may not need a larger hole in order to turn and manipulate the probe. - Get a shorter length, unless you really think you'll need the longer one. It's a hassle to manage a really long probe, even 3 meters is much longer than you need most of the time. You can get one with both of these features for well under $100. Now if only someone would invent one of these with an artificial horizon so you can figure out which way is up, or better yet automatically adjust the horizon, I would throw money at them so fast you'd think it was a strip club..

Thank you for this! This could be a major help for life vision people. Before seeing this the only option of which I was aware were small CCTV units mounted on adjustable stages. These were advertised in adaptive tech catalogs for huge $$.

I drain my cottage's waterline by removing submersible pump's riser from the inside of the well casing 4' down. And then I fumble around trying reconnect after. I used my endoscope to reconnect this year, so much easier when you can see what you're doing!

$43 on Amazon. Aliexpress has some cheaper ones. If you don't mind connecting to your phone directly, they get even less expensive. I got a direct-connect one a few years ago, and I think I paid $15. Don't need it often, but when I do, there's no substitute.

Great tool tip. I repair laboritory robotics. My dad gave me a wired endoscope that he had bought for a project and didn't need any more. But it's like 30 ft long and it's a pain to carry around and it only works with the micro USB connector. I think I'm going to get one of these for my tool box.

The camera is in the box, the probe is a fiber optic lead inside of a coiled sheath. They make a 3mm diameter x 5m long one but it costs quite abit more.

I've had a number of these over the years -- most usb wired, but I think there's a wireless (BT?) one in the collection. My goto these days is the CAT IV rated industrial borescope from Greenlee. Not so tiny, but a 4ft snake I can poke into a gas tank or high voltage panel is great. (or an attic with unknown critters. unless there's a gator or snapping turtle in there, they aren't going to hurt it. I've had a raccoon chew on it, and a skunk spray it.)

@Adam Savage: I have a rare complex of hearing disorders that I'm trying to document for doctors. My eardrums spasm when I speak, and the doctors I visit don't have endoscopes and never have more than 5 minutes or so to examine me. I need to be able to record the behavior of my ear drum with a camera that can literally fit in my ear and have a close enough focal range to give a clear picture of the Tensor Tympani membrane. It also has to be high enough framerate to capture the brief contractions caused by the spasm. If there is anything out there that can help me with this it would be a huge help in diagnosing my problem. This has been a huge disruption to my life, I used to be an entertainer and now I can barely speak. I know this comment is such a Longshot but Adam if you read this and can give me some kind of answer I would be so grateful. Thank you.

I'm a safe and vault technician. And I usually end up poking 1/4" holes to manipulate the inside mechanisms of safes. I use endoscopes with straight and 90° ends all the time.

I bought an endoscope thinking it would be so useful.. By the time it arrived, I'd forgotten what project I bought it for. Still haven't gotten around to whatever it was. However, it was very useful in checking out a mysterious burrow in my backyard. Turns out, it was home to a tarantula and about 100 tiny little snails. It felt straight out of a children's book, about the tarantula and his gastropod friends.

A key feature these inexpensive endoscopes don't have is an articulating end. I work for a company that makes endoscopes for medical and industrial customers. On the industrial side, we make a scope with a 6mm diameter shaft that articulates 130 degrees in four directions. Unfortunately it's prohibitively expensive for the typical consumer.
