They look exactly the same as the ones I got her this year. It's awesome. While watching her playing with all that pieces I decided to get a Technic for my self. I got the Bugatti. IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! 3600 pieces. Great model. Thanks Lego! You guys rock.

As a child of the shuttle era, I have to correct a comment that Adam made about Sally Ride (which, since I'm not done with the video, he may do before the end!). Adam said that Sally Ride had a mission on the shuttle in 1978. Ms. Ride (apologies, I don't recall if she was a doctor or not) joined NASA in 1978, but her first mission on the shuttle was STS-7 onboard the Challenger in 1983.

Adam, your shop makes envious! I moved a year ago and still don't the building up or all the shop equipment, supplies, works in progress, and just junk all still packed in a 20' shipping container. For the cast iron milling you might try an air curtain. Put a small source of air blowing towards the working surface and then the larger shop vac sucking all the air plus metal particles away. I am betting that the sho vac through a lot of fine dust into the air. You might try taking a microfilter for a furnace cut out a block long enough to go around the shop vac's filter bag and tall enough to go almost to the bottom on the inside of the shop vac. Sew the ends together to make a tube, then sew a nylon strap on one edge flattening all the corrugations down in the same direction, then cut a circle of some airtight fabric and do the other end. Place it where the bag would go and use a large hose clamp to secure it and prevent air from leaking around it. The furnace filters are designed for high flow rates with little pressure drop, so you should still get good suction. Mike Bushroe (also known as mishabear)

These are the best videos for two reasons we get to see you more and the builds
@refa424 жыл бұрын
A cyclone separator in front of the shop vac would be a good idea. A cyclone separates fine dust better than thien-baffle, and helps to keep your vac filters cleaner. Could build one in a shop like that, just remember to have grounding to get rid of static - a wire from the separator+bucket that also touches the ground is sufficient. I've made two cyclones from stainless steel for two metal shops, and it makes cleaning everything easier and you'll do it more often. Cleaning metal burrs from drill press, or grinding dust from a bench grinder and welding area, all makes a neater shop.

As someone who used to have a vast array of mostly Lego Star Wars and Lego city sets I was very sad when I realize that if I wanted to move out and not have to rent a massive U-Haul or something I would have to getting rid of almost all of my Lego. But I did keep a single set which is a older and a relatively more rare set (I don’t like owning stuff that is so rare that a collector who is truly dedicated to finding this stuff would be missing out on it but I like stuff that rare enough to where I am probably not going to meet another person has it. That’s why the Nostromo Napalmer is my favorite weapon in TF2), It is a big red fighter jet that is at like 95% mini figure scale. Makes you realize how absolutely tiny all of the other vehicles Lego makes are. I also kept a Jango Fett mini figure and a couple of custom starships that I built. I have always enjoyed building really small and using the studs of lego as detail. I am pretty sure the largest starship I have could easily lay on a average wallet and couldn’t be any more than 50 pieces. My favorite one is about the size of those bright pink erasers you would use in school. I really enjoy starships with wings. Usually when building things it is only limited in its complexity in detail by the amount and variety of wing pieces I have and for some reason I usually only have the leftwings

There is indeed a lot of planning going into how many new parts and new colours can fit within the production budget, and usually you see a specific new part being used in several different themes at once, like how they made new quarter circles for the VW Beetle and then used the same part on other vehicles and also as a donut sign. Designers also help each other out with using parts that someone else really needs for their own designs so that there's more incentive to produce it. People like Jamie Berard mention this in interviews. In general, they keep track of this much better nowadays. In the early 2000s, they went nuts making new specific colours and some parts that were only ever used once, and sometimes sets had a higher production cost than the retail cost. This nearly killed them, as you can imagine.
