For the editor: if Adam's ok with it, would be nice to have a small scroll on the bottom of the video with the songs he's listening at the time. On my part, pure curiosity, tho i'd fully understand if Adam wouldn't feel ok with putting the songs he's into out there. Not all things should be public. Cheers, you're doing great work capturing Adam's shenanigans into a well edited video!

At the approx. 15 minute point when he gets the lightsaber to fit in Luke's hand and he has that happy, semi-maniacal laugh....I think EVERY single builder who has been in the process of trying to make something work, and in the end it fits perfectly, has made that similar laugh. It's the joy and relief you feel when you are working on something that you're not absolutely positive will work out comes together just how you saw it in your mind's eye. Bravo Adam, Bravo.

Same with paint. I emitted the same noise just yesterday, I'm building the battleship USS New Jersey in 1/350 and I'd been spray painting the hull. You can imagine the stressful moment when I removed the carefully applied masking tape, hoping to find a beautifully straight and sharp black waterline stripe on a model that big. When the tape was removed and the crisp black stripe was revealed in it's straight and sharp glory, I definitely sounded like a mad scientist for a second

tarantino confirmed that he DID murder his wife with a harpoon on a boat for one. Inspired by the mysterious death of natalie wood. Also every action he takes in the film is out of self interest, not for the sake of others. He also breaks the law multiple times and seems to have no real moral compass.
@bbb462cid Жыл бұрын
He's a fun villain. Deal.
@theantiantichrist Жыл бұрын
Maybe because he's a completely self-interested narcissist. He does lots of morally ambiguous and self serving stuff, maybe that's enough to consider him a villain. Or maybe there's something specific we're missing.
@nak3dxsnake Жыл бұрын
Fans of the movie know that he did in fact murder his wife. He picks up an underage girl trying his best not to be tempted by her in the process. He violently murders intruders although there for heinous reasons, he still brutally efficiently ends their lives in short order.

Love the love for the build.

Adam just a thought; maybe you could have used two pieces of 32 gauge speaker magnet wire twisted together to look like one cable. The nice thing about the magnet wire is that it is shellacked, will not short out, and has no coloured insulation. better yet... most cheap headphones use a tiny pair of wires shellacked together, you could use that too! Just a thought, cheers!
@Eversor86 Жыл бұрын
And its far thinner than the normal isolated cables he used. Easier to hide, easier to "make look like a metal wire", especially cause with thin ones you could actually mix multiple of two for easier "metal string waving" and get more current handling if needed.
@thejason189 Жыл бұрын
I don't know when this was shot. But, when you said you were finding it hard to see the tiny wire to solder, I immediately thought, too bad he doesn't have anything that might magnify his work. Something, maybe, with a custom stand...

34-gauge magnet wire works for fine LED wiring. The insulation is a layer of enamel painted onto the copper, which you burn off with a hot soldering iron. Two pieces of wire will twist into something that looks like a cable, especially with a coat of paint.
@biocow9070 Жыл бұрын
Tip I learned for "stripping" magnet wire or very thin wire without damaging the wire. Blast the end with a micro torch for a second. It burns off the coating but doesn't melt the wire. Works with thicker coated wire too, but the insulation tends to burn, so be ready to blow it out.

As a miniature painter, among other things, I would recommend getting a medium (like an airbrush medium) to dilute acrylics and not use water, that way you wont get that beading. The paint already has medium in it and you are just adding more of a thing it has.

Everything about this is gorgeous. Two things, I personally would LOVE to see: Luke at scale. And you could probably strip the return wire on the lightsaber, so it's even narrower and I don't believe it requires the insulation.
@glenriches47796 ай бұрын
Miniature wargaming has afew techniques that help with projects like this. One example is conductive paint so you dont need to hide wires on the model. Also technical paints that mimic everything from snow to lava.
@nashhussan4568 Жыл бұрын
Master at work. I love the chaos Adam has in his approach. Makes it look easy but weathering is an art form in itself
@MmostlyRandom Жыл бұрын
to strip thin wires I usually just use a lighter. melt a little bit of the insulation on the end then you can just use your finger nails to pinch it off. (depending on the insulation sometimes you don't even need to pinch it off as it will just curl back leaving exposed wire at the tip... from dupont wires to anything thinner I don't even attempt to use wire strippers, a lighter is way more effective than risking chopping the end of the actual wire off with strippers ) the build turned out amazing. the weathering really brings it to life

Watching you take something that is obviously a plastic model and making it into an aged, battle worn, life-like AT-AT with the little snow piles on the vents and everything, just amazing! Really came out awesome! One thing I had thought of while watching and back seat driving your video XD is that you could have maybe wrapped the red and blue electrical wires around the straight wire going all the way up, just super gluing it in place as you go, to give it even more of a cable look. Then when you painted and washed it, it would have really looked like a winch cable or whatever. I believe I have an old AT-AT at my mother's house, I may ask her to ship it out to me to do this project with my daughter, I think it would be super fun and we could learn together.

one thing I've used when doing snow over a larger area is use a "powder coat gun". I find that by using the Powder gun and waving it over the area, it give some realistic drifts and low spots that would happen in a windy environment that just dropping from above just does not give the same detail. Now I know not everyone has a powder coating kit at home but I'm sure Adam does somewhere in that cave of his. Just next time you have to do some snow (even works when doing basic short grass), give it a try. You may be surprised at how realistic the patchyness gets.

9:27 smallest possible wire you can get is from a pair of headphones. A quality set is perfect for this. Strip the cord, untangle the wires and choose the one you want, that thing is as thin as thin gets and from a meter away it basically vanishes. 58:09 you can also use actual rust. Either scraping it off a parent source (a rusty something) or by making rust out of iron powder and mixing it with a thinned out lacquer. I've used this method many times to make rusty cars... and it paints on like paint and you kinda do a reverse of painting on (using a hard pig's hair toothbrush) scraping it off to make it conform to what i want before letting the lacquer set. Nothing like actual rust, looks like rust, quite like rust on any scale. Yet another method, tho a bit more expensive is to make find ground iron powder and spray paint it with very thinned out paint that's in the color scheme you need, and then wetting it, thus creating the rust effect you desire, again, very realistic.
