As an engineering student and a maker I have come to two realizations A) you never stop making you're always thinking about your current project B) how much art and science truly meld into one awesome amalgam. Thank you Adam

I wonder how many people know "the Muppet Show" was essentially a British production ... Produced by Lew Grade for Associate television in 1976, that's why you have so many Brits involved with it in the early days (John cleese, Peter Ustinov, Bruce Forsyth, Twiggy, etc etc) . It was filmed at Elstree Studios in the UK, and made to look "American" :)

@@gloriouslyimperfectit’s just the American networks the main ones weren’t interested and wouldn’t pick it up. They did 2 pilots for ABC, the first one they liked and the second one they lost interest. It’s like first time you had them second time you lost them 😂

Considering the fact that Adam's dad worked on sesame street i was half expecting them to pull out some of his original work. Would be cool to see that, and Adam's reaction to it.

Jim Henson was such a visionary for child and adult entertainment. I loved the labayrnth and dark crystal. And of courses the muppets. Thanks Tested for doing these shorts eps about the Jim Henson company. 😀

Henson was a creative genius and the heart of the Muppets. After his passing, the Muppets lost some of their sweet innocence and timelessness - the jokes became just a little coarser and tied more to today. How I love Jim's Kermit and Frank's Fozzy.
@robertdouble559 Жыл бұрын
Uh Huh. So Mark Hammil, Debbie Harry etc being on the Muppet show at the height of their and The Muppets fame wasn't tied to it's time? Piggy's sexual urges were there from day one too.

We graduates of the University of Maryland are so proud that Jim Henson studied there! They did a great show of his student art work years ago. Still remember it with love! ❤

I am so jealous of you, Adam, (i think i said it on a previous video too) to be able to see and experience all these Henson/Muppet/Puppeteering things! They have given so many of us (especially me) laughter and joy. Jim (and the people who worked around him) sure was something special

The sketches introduced at 7:35 are identical to the muppets used in a sketch from the muppet show. I remember its original showing with one singing “you are my sunshine” while being repeatedly gassed by the other puppet.

A few lines on paper creates a character that is identifiable as a Henson puppet. Extraordinary talent that was refined to maximum expression with minimal drawing. A true genius.

Gosh..I must've watched The Dark Crystal at least a dozen times as a kid. I didn't make the realization until much, much later when I heard about his passing. I was barely in HS at the time all those years ago... He passed away far too soon but what an amazing legacy he left for the rest of us...

Jim Henson did the SciFi Show, Farscape*! * The series was conceived by Rockne S. O'Bannon and produced by The Jim Henson Company and Hallmark Entertainment. The Jim Henson Company was responsible for the various alien make-up and prosthetics, and two regular characters (the animatronic puppets Rygel and Pilot) are entirely Creature Shop creations.
@DawnDavidson Жыл бұрын
One of my all time favorite science fiction shows. :) The Creature Shop characters are 100% part of the main cast. Quite interesting! I’m not sure if any other “serious” show for adults has ever used puppets as main characters.

I love that moment when I was young by 2019, when a skull ates the pink mask and tried to eat a Muppet woman singer with her leg, and in the Glow-Worm, a creature had ate two worms 🐛, and he saw a larger nose 👃, he is eating it and pulling it, and he pulls the bigger nose which transformed into a giant purple monster with a gigantic nose, and the monster 👿 eats the creature and the creature was never seen again, just like The Ed Sullivan Show.

It’s so weird hearing that Jim had big hands, I saw his hand prints at Hollywood studios and Disney world and ours are the exact same size. And after making my own Kermit puppet awhile back it’s good to know that it’s to scale since mine fit inside.
