Smasher's AI seems very wonky when not facing the player. It's almost like his AI doesn't know what to do against enemies that essentially don't fear him.

I’ve been following this series for a bit and I think it’s worth noting how underwhelming it is that random maelstrom gangers who only have a cyber toe can come close to beating smasher. You’d think Arasakas lapdog would be a little bit tougher than a machete but he’s not.

You ignore the fact that cyberpsychos are bosses themselves. Yeah, lorewise it's dumb that random hobos can keep up with Smasher but from the game balance logic they are in the same category

There's always jarring differences in power levels when moving from gameplay to lore because of technological limits. In lore smasher would just use his sandevistan and one shot all these guys from behind.

Smasher glitched so that he couldn't go below 1% HP. If that hadn't happened she would have killed him same as Mower did.

Regarding Mower (the first one mentioned) he seems to have a big problem dealing with her invisibility. Generally he has a harder time with enemies that prefer to melee him. Strange that he easily took out Norio Akuhara, even though he's the same type as Mower (invisible melee).

Smasher is extreamly underpowered for an end game boss, i heard he was op in tabletop game back in 90s.

He was designed to be a walking total party wipe in Cyberpunk2020. In that game he was a two legged IFV with zero care about collateral damage. His backup sidearms did as much damage as a battle rifle. His main ranged weapons were things like a full auto 10 guage shotgun(for mowing down crowds) or things like 14.5X114mm "Assault Rifles". Yes that is an assault rifle using a light autocannon round. For melee He used a Cyborg martial art and could kill a dozen black belts with one armed disabled. He would also use a Rocket Hammer similar to the one in Battle Angel.

I would just like to say I enjoyed Smasher fight. It wasn't difficult, but I approached it as if I was in danger and it felt very cinematic. Too bad it would be a joke if I let it play out normally

Really sucks that his fight was underwhelming, I love Adam smasher especially after edgerunners, but after watching it I was just reminded of his peashooters in game, I wish they purposefully unbalanced him sorta like Vader in Jedi: Fallen Order, but still let you finish him off in the end just with a few "plot armor" like cutscenes or something to give him his full intimidation factor

must be sort of a bug here. in phase 4 when smasher only use is side arm. that a few % of his hp left. i can clearly see that many of this pshycos hit him like 30 times and nothing happen, then smasher wins after like 100 pallets shots.

@@CalebNewbery He has a damage stop gap. It was implemented awhile ago because well, smashers fight is just that much of a joke. So, the devs put a block on how much damage he can actually take in one frame. (If I remember correctly.) and with AI to AI damage works, well, this is the result of that.

2:24 I fought this cyberpsycho at level 4 on my first playthrough. Died about 5 times, quicksaved right outside and was finally able to take her down. This is the first cyberpsycho I'd ever fought and thought they were all going to be this difficult. Nope, the rest save for 1 or 2 were pretty easy.

Kinda crazy that I 1v1'd Lt Mower before the heist with an uncommon electric baton alpha, meanwhile she can 1v1 the final boss... Smasher's way too weak. He needed stronger armor, more knockback on his melee attacks, and way more health.

adam needs weak points that need to be destroyed before damaging certain parts of his body, and as he gets more damaged he needs to increase aggression and get staggered less that way the player feels like their doing damage but also cant just go in when hes at low hp and expect to out tank his dps

Adam Smasher seems far too slow, and I'm not simply talking about his lack of Sandevistan It seems to me that his attacks are so slow that other melee characters can essentially beat him through raw dps by simply walking straight forwards and wading through his attacks, and that doesn't really seem appropriate for ol' Smasher

I was actually debating on playing Cyberpunk but after seeing how painfully weak Adam Smasher is I don’t think I’ll play. Even before watching Edgerunners, I assumed Smasher was gonna be nauseatingly difficult even in lower difficulties, but the fight with him just seems so disappointing I hope they rework his whole fight bc Smasher was the only reason I considered buying Cyberpunk
