+Alex G Yeah, because every part of the live version of the song has to be identical to the studio version, therefore they can't play it without this immensely needed "choir"... Smh....
@DrummingMoose8 жыл бұрын
You're all wrong. They don't play it anymore because they were friends, especially Travis, with DJ AM, whose real name was Adam Goldstein; he overdosed on drugs in 2009. It hurts the band too much to play the song because he always comes to mind when they play that song.

When my best friend died we did exactly what they sung about, and that was before this song was written. We were all invited into his room by his mother to take something each that we could keep in his memory. That is why this song will always make me cry.

Same, but in reverse. My friend killed himself just before his 13h birthday for reasons we'll never truly know. The day before, he went to each and every one of our houses, and gave us each something he knew we'd love from his own posessions. Skateboards, videgames, music tapes, comics, everything. None of us knew until after. His excuse was that he just didn't want then anymore. I really wish I'd had some fucking intuition, but I was only 11. Perhaps if we'd all met up that day, maybe we could have pieced it together. As it is, it became an event that marked me for life, and was my first real experience with mortality and death. Six months later my best friends sister got murdered also. They never caught the bastard, and it still remains an unsolved mystery. They are both buried in the same row. This song always reminds me of them.
@holynickskates2 жыл бұрын
@@mikejenkins4924 someone I used to sit with at lunch in middle school one day just stopped showing up, turns out he took a shotgun into the woods and ended his pain. We were all losers, and I felt very similar but would’ve never guessed he was feeling that way. There wasn’t really a service or anything. Very heartbreaking but I know he’s at peace.

So heartbreaking to hear y’all’s stories I pray that all of y’all are doing great now and that those families are too. 2 years later and i was thinking the same thing. And they’re loving it such a feeling! It gives me the feeling of sadness, feeling sorry for someone that was so sad they wanted to really go through with suicide. But there’s excitement cause they are band i really love and they normally joke around but make good music. The song is surprisingly upbeat for the lyrics. All around one of the best songs.

I love this performance so much. If I was there and heard this song live, I'd probably cry even though people were jumping to it. It's a very sensitive song and I can see it being s crutch for me when I need it. Watching videos like this just makes the 90s/early 2000s era look so beautiful. I truly don't know what those times were like but I wish I was a teenager when Blink 182 was at their peak. I'm going to be a senior in high school and I am surrounded by technology and gossip and awful music. Not many people in my school like Blink 182. Or at least I don't think. And I just always hate being on my phone sometimes so I only go on it at night as of right now. I think technology is great and it's involved with my future career but I also miss days like this even though I never actually experienced them. I just feel ahead of my time sometimes and that I just don't belong in my age group sometimes. This turned into a long rant about my sinking heart but at least I can still jam out to this music today. That's the beauty of music. It will never disappear. So thankful for this band.

My mom and I have very different musical tastes. Being a young child, I didnt win the vote many times, as to what song would play on the radio (plus we lived up North, didnt get many stations). She ALWAYS let me crank this one when it came on though... she was never big on this style of music, and hated anything LOUD, yet would always let this one slip through the cracks, when I got the CD, I'd play this song as we'd drive down the long hill towards the soccer fields where I would play late night games... This song is special, so is my mom, thanks mom!

I trace the cord back to the wall No wonder it was never plugged in at all I took my time, I hurried up The choice was mine, I didn't think enough I'm too depressed to go on You'll be sorry when I'm gone I never conquered, rarely came Sixteen just held such better days Days when I still felt alive We couldn't wait to get outside The world was wide, too late to try The tour was over, we'd survived I couldn't wait 'til I got home To pass the time in my room alone I never thought I'd die alone Another six months I'll be unknown Give all my things to all my friends You'll never step foot in my room again You'll close it off, board it up Remember the time that I spilled the cup Of apple juice in…
