Beautiful. The rainbow eucalyptus is so unreal. I took picture after picture and it still looked unreal. Almost like there was a paint ball fight among the trees. We missed the Huli huli chicken joint, but picked up some pork on the way back from Hana. The black sand beach was cool to see, but I think the most enjoyable part of out trip was finding little niches to stop and visit. Our favorite was an honor system fruit stand whereby it had just been fully stocked and the fruit was so juicy, sweet and perfectly cool on a hot day. Almost like when the palisade peaches in Colorado are at their finest. Great video.

We are going to Hawaii in March and cruising on NCL PRIDE OF AMERICA. I have rented a car at Maui but won't pick it up until 8:30. Hoping to make it to Hana before turning around before dark. Was cash or credit cards preferred?
@AdamandMadalyn Жыл бұрын
Hmm, that should be doable if you stay on time. Bring both, the less commercial a place is the less they’ll accept cards

I am going next month and I am not sure if the road from Hana to the last Trail is safe enough? Also, I am a little worried about the time. Coming back at 4 did you get to come back before gets dark?
@AdamandMadalyn2 жыл бұрын
Great question. You want to be back at the twin falls area by dusk. We don’t recommend driving the road to Hana in the dark. I’m assuming by last trail you meant the road past Hana to the Haleakala National Park stretch? It is not as well built of road as the first stretch to Hana. It takes a bit longer to navigate but I wouldn’t say we ever felt unsafe on it. Also I assume you know that driving around the back side of Maui is a no go. You have to go back the way you came. We probably spent a little too much time at lunch, we were also slow hikers. Hope that helps!

What time did you reach Twin Falls?

Basically when it opened

Today I learned: IF you add "NYL" (or Neil) in front of Adam that it's Madalyn spelled backwards

That is factually correct

Do you need any pass or reservation to do the bamboo forest?
@AdamandMadalyn2 жыл бұрын
Jose, no you just need to pay to go into the lower portion of Haleakala National Park and be there during the open hours 👍🏼
@ernstgenzs74562 жыл бұрын
just inflated view fishing trap...A few nice views along the way, black sand beach needs reservations and its just ok...red sands beach closed..the best is the state park at the end with the waterfall and bamboo forest..other than that too much driving in tight corners and roads...our take this is just an overall exaggerated attraction by the gazillion you-tubers...
@AdamandMadalyn2 жыл бұрын
If you take some time to appreciate how unique this area is, learn the history, I think it’s much more than an exaggerated attraction by a gazillion KZbinrs

@@AdamandMadalyn thank you for the update. We didn’t mean to offend anyone. My teenage kid is just very dogmatic and used my account to vent out his disapproval from the back seat’s viewpoint 🙄.

That's the point. Beautiful and undeveloped, like Hawai'i of old.
