It’s always been like this, it’s just that social media is so prevalent in todays society that everything gets captured on film now. But it does increase the stupidity of the drivers because they wanna look “cool” on camera.

The 2nd meet is definitely my type of car meet, chilled get together with some truly fantastic cars. However, given the noise from cars leaving I bet that venue won't let them back, as finding more and more potential venues don't want to upset the neighbours.

That was my thought, us car guys/girls really don't help ourselves, we get a new meet that's infinitely better than the majority of trash, like the first meet, they ask people to not make too much noise to try and keep the neighbours on side, and people go and do things like a massive burnout. I swear people just don't think that if neighbours start complaining, that's when a meet becomes more hassle than it's worth for the people putting it on, and we end up with nothing but reading style meets.

A few revs while stationary should be fine, but yeah stuff like that does screw it up. I usually just give it a first/second gear pull and leave it at that. Sadly getting fewer and fewer meets these days which is why the Mexico ones are taking over and really screwing it for us.

You 100% right about nice cars not going to chav meets. I drift, but I don’t go to regular meets because I just don’t want local filth associating me with that shite. Personally, I like Sunday morning cars & coffee meets. So much more chill, everyone is sound and chats. As opposed to the Fiesta\Golf “stage 3 map bro” crowd you get in trading estates on a Friday night. They aren’t car guys, they are just attention vacuums raised by tiktok.

Welcome to mature-hood my friend. The first car meet was us as kids, who could only afford shit boxes. To thrash around car parks, asda meets and maccies drive throughs. The 2nd is more of a classic car meet. Yes 90's early 2000's cars are classic now. We are slowly becoming that generation 😱😆👍

Many people are saying meets are dying out but it’s not the case. You will always get sub groups who will go to certain meets like the reading one. If you don’t believe me then you should have seen some of the meets I went to back in the late 90’s. Stolen cars hammered around and then set fire to, constant burnouts and even some fistfights, it was great 😊 all jokes aside it was far grimy back then. People go to these meets because it’s free and it’s something to do.

I've started going to the latter meets, I like the chill but a bit of noise didn't hurt anyone if it's not too often, once a month I wouldn't complain but it's not for every one. But it's definitely the sound that makes people look lol.
