Adam Rupp's most impressive skills are 1) to sound exactly like a real drum kit and 2) to maintain that same beat throughout an entire song, let alone a whole concert. He doesn't put unnecessary cymbals or fills in a song, he just does exactly what an actual drummer would do. Incredibly difficult to do. Sure he can make amazing fills, noises and various instrument sounds, but just maintaining and holding down a beat for a song is just massively impressive. Thanks for another great reaction!

They're able to do any song because of the incredible range of talents they ALL have. Every one of them can sing in the Tenor range, every one of them can beatbox to some degree (although there's only one 'Freak of Nature', Adam), Tim can go Pit Viper / Sub-harmonuc, and Chance can sing incredibly low as well ... Any one of them can take the lead and they all decide whose voice is best suited for each song / verse IN the song. They can do Covers (obviously), yet they also have original songs written by them. They can arrange their own songs, but have also reached out to others for that (eg: the Butts Remix). They can sing along with Original Artists, as well as with others (such as Peter Hollens), and there's no egos that get in the way. Flat out, our guys can do it ALL. And that, quite simply, is just PART of the reason that any genre / style of song they choose to do is 'suited' to them. ;)

Every time I hear the original version of this song, I'm brought back to first grade, making papier mache and singing with 3 of my classmates. Home Free is phenomenal! Adam's beat boxing is insane! And you Adam, have a lovely voice yourself. Another great reaction.

Here's a video you'll get a kick out of. It's Tim Foust's Vibration. It's from Home Free's concert in Columbia, MO on April 29, 2016. Toward the end of the song "Honey I'm Good" you'll see Adam point at Tim and then point to the ground. After that, just watch and listen.

Home Free made this as a tribute to Kenny Rogers! Kenny befriended the band and asked them to perform on his Christmas album singing “Children go where I send Thee!! ALL Vocal band! Adam Rupp is an amazing vocal drummer / harmonica / castanet / etc ! Listen to his drum solo!! But watch out all bandmembers have done beatboxing routine! Extremely talented group!!!

Adam can do some layering when they are in studio which is probably why it seems just too good. But yes, A Capella. The solo you reacted to was quite a few years old and he has improved considerably. Although it was still very good even then.

That song was entirely A Capella. They did use some vocal layering, but all sounds heard were made by the human voice.

I guess that with 20+ years of practis, he has have a good time to make his profession perfect, and of course his tremendeous talent to top it. Yes, all acappella, no instruments. It's only "Born in the USA''', where Chance plays guitar, and a christmas song, where Adam is playing trumpet, that they use instruments. Beside when other singers join them, with their instrument. You should really listen to their cover of "When the devil came to Georgia", where Charlie Daniels play the fidel, and sing duet with Austin. Love that song. I think Adam's shirt are a Bandana shirt, look it up.

Yep all a capella. It's all Adam. If you haven't seen his more recent drum solos he's added a lot more since the one you reacted to. The only time they've had an instrument is when Chance plays guitar in Born in the USA. Also, if you like Adam's shirt you should check out their "Sunday Best" video they did during quarantine. 🙂

This was done during quarantine. All of their songs during that time they and their SO wife/girlfriend had to tape it and then send it in and then it was arranged (usually by Darren Rust). This one They look like they are all together. They did have some problems doing it themselves. You should watch some of the BTS and see their poor struggles lol Idt you've done Meet in the Middle and Quarantine those are good ones from quarantine time Yes, that is all Adam Rupp on the drums. Adam and Chris Rupp started this group 20 years ago. Chris is the guy in the cowboy hat in some of the older videos, but he left the group for a solo career. Adam Rupp has been beat boxing for 20 years, and you watched his drum solo. Austin is the high tenor, Rob is the bearded tenor, Tim is the low bass with a 5 octave range, and Chance (the other Adam) is the baritone with a 4 octave range. Now that you have reacted to a number of their songs you should react to their cover of Mayday by Cam.

That is all Adam the beatboxer. He does the drums, harmonica (not in this song of course) bugs, all kinds of sounds. He’s amazing. Now go watch Adam Rupp Drum Solo on KZbin and see. He does the drums with his mouth….check it out! Home Free did this in honor of Kenny Rogers who passed away last year at 80. You can also see them sing with Kenny on a video called Children Go Where I Send Thee. It’s really good and Kenny sounds great for his age at the time of 75! You have a good voice by the way. The reason they can sing any song and make it sound like it fits them to a tee. Is because they adapt the song into their Style. You've commented many of times that it doesn't have the same instrument through the same Baseline going through but it's still the same song they just turned it their way. And they are extremely talented. The last thing is I think you forgot to mention how much fun they put into their videos of their music. They don't take themselves so seriously and just enjoy having a good time

You should check out their collaboration with Kenny Rogers on Children Go Where I Send Thee This when it looks divide is during quarantine, they recorded it, sent it to Darin Rust and he blended it together. So Adam probably did to recordings one instrumental and one playing cards. At least that's what I think

Chris and Adam are brothers and the founders of Home Free. Chris left a few years ago and began a solo career. Chris handpicked Adam Chance to replace him.

I think the secret is they're all multi-talented but most of all - adaptable. When Don McLean was reprising his famous song "American Pie" with them, he asked how they wanted it sung. Their answer was to do it any way he wanted - that they'd adapt to it. They don't seem to have any divas in the band - they all seem to consider themselves to be just enjoying their job and doing the best they can at it.

You should check out some of their live performances to see him in action 'for real', look up dont it feel good live, or Timeless with special dancer, they do two songs in this vid( tims little nephew crashes the stage for a dance) and the breakdown in the middle is brilliant

It is good,but not their best one in my eyes, prob due to that i feel noone can make Johnny Cash justice on it.. But also a really good one, is Flowers on the Wall ;) Friends in Low Places as well !

If you go to the Home free website and check out all their videos library there are SEVERAL videos that Adam has contributed showcasing How he performs (and explains his process to coming up with different sounds) for the videos they perform, YES he does 1 (at least I know of) Where he performs 1 Astounding video showcasing an ENTIRE DRUM SOLO Only with his Natural God given vocal Talents that the Good Lord Blessed him with!) So yeah, Adam does The Entire Drumming sounds you hear. They are all 150% All Vocal (Absolutely NO MUSIC) Acapella vocal group.

Adam, have you not watched Adam's "drum" solo? I thought you had! When Adam was a baby, he not only swallowed a full drum kit! He swallowed most of an entire orchestra! If you don't actually SEE instruments in Home Free's videos, there AREN'T any instruments. They are ALL a cappella, all the time! They've had one song where Chance played the guitar! I think it was Born in the USA. Also, when the other guys aren't singing, they do a lot of sound effects!

Pentatonix and Voiceplay occasionally use instruments... but only if the instruments are clearly visible. Best of my knowledge, Home Free never uses them. Sometimes, in concert (and therefore also in studio recordings of those same songs), they do use looping machines. Because even Adam Rupp can't do fake drums and a fake harmonica at the same time.
