In 2023, for the first time, independent music accounted for 50% of Spotify payouts - there are probably many people who, like Nic, successfully play the streaming game and whom we haven't even heard of - it would be great to know their stories and strategies

I ask artists all the time… how lucky are we to be in a time where you can be a little digital fly on the wall - having access to incredible conversations like this is a game changer! And it’s only available thanks to modern technology + the generosity of creators like Adam willing to put the time & effort into producing this content. There’s never been a better time for artists. Adam, you crushed this one dude, can’t wait to see more!

100% In the past you had no control over your career when starting out. Someone had to grant you an opportunity. Today, you have full control. Sure, the competition is fierce, but you get to choose whether or not your a contender at all.
@LennyMartelliTV7 ай бұрын
@@Peaceful.Protest exactly 🙏 one take on “competition”… the modern era of technology has changed the world for the better - up until now it was a world of “or” but now it’s a world of “and”. There really is no “competition” in terms of “saturation” anymore. There’s room for everyone at the table. There’s endless opportunities for whoever believes that to be true. And there’s endless obstacles for whoever believes that to be true. Just a take I’ve observed more people leaning into & finding fulfillment from.

Why is finding out he is a Christian impactful?
@victor_byrne2 ай бұрын
@ Well my friend, because I myself am a Christian. It’s encouraging to me that someone like him can find success doing music, which is a goal I’d like to achieve for myself. I don’t want to be famous, but I want to be able to support my family. If I can do that making my own music, it’d be amazing. Blessings friend!

@@victor_byrne I hope you teach that for yourself!! I am on that path as well, however being Christian should have nothing to do with it.

Both of you are inspiring! Videos like this motivate me to keep giving music my all despite many of the decisions being risky. When you discuss most people not wanting to sacrifice small pleasures like fast food, partying etc in order to invest more in their creative work - the voice inside me just shouted "I DO!". It's so strange to start noticing how many super talented and passionate creatives still shy away from making any serious investments or leaps of faith to try and turn that hobby into a career. I don't think people realise you won't make big jumps forward without making bold moves with your level of commitment. I understand many people see it as gambling when the stakes are high, but it seems clear to me now that you've got to invest and believe in your work before anyone else will follow suit.

Great Job! I really appreciated this interview! I have a question for the both of you: I’m planning on releasing a lot of music in swedish AND in english. I plan to promote the swedish music through comedy skits where I’m doing different characters and accents (in swedish). Not sure about the promo for the english music but I’m considering the same thing there, but in english. My questions is: should I do this on separate accounts or on the same account? I’m talking about Spotify BUT more importantly social media accounts. Sidenote here is that a lot of swedes are very good/fluent in english so that won’t be a problem but I’m afraid content in Swedish will be unappealing to people who don’t speak the language? And I’m thinking English subtitles along with Swedish ones will take up too much space in reels/short form content?
@DavidAskerMusik10 ай бұрын
Thanks in advance Kind Regards David
@adamivy10 ай бұрын
When it comes to promoting music in different languages on social media, it's a balancing act. If your Swedish and English music have different audiences or branding, separate accounts may be best. But if you want a unified brand and wider reach, consider subtitles on the same account. Experiment to see what works best for your goals and audience.
