I did mine too, wish the plates are some way marked, other that installation was breeze..... ran to problems because of mine factory clutch , had to take the AVA to dealer, could't find any problem but whole think was doing unwanted vibrations and noises, then installed back original clutch and it was the same..... mechanic took a part whole freaking shit a part, could't see any wear and tear, put it back everything together and the problem stopped! After 7 hours of taking a part, put it back together, testing it and repeating it again and again now she rides like smooth European butter .... cool video as always, cheers V!

Hi Adam Thanks for doing this video, I think it’s perfect for a 701 or many bikes. Could save your bike or a injury. Thanks stay safe from Australia

Can't wait to have you do mine! So you didn't end up using the $28 blue motion pro tool? Just an impact and the 30mm socket?
@AdamChandler863 жыл бұрын
That's correct! 30MM + Impact then a 30MM + Torque wrench to 100NM with it in 6th gear and foot slammed on the rear brake.

How was the clutch basket damaged? What a nightmare but you made it work that's what matters. Great job!
@AdamChandler863 жыл бұрын
Wrong tool for the job. That motion Pro clutch basket holder has straight feet, the KTM basket feet are angled. so when the holder slipped off when I started to apply torque, it took some metal with it. I could have salvaged it but I didn't want to screw around with metal in the engine.

My clutch slave cylinder lasted 38 miles. (2020 701 LR)

sigh. Sorry to hear that and it's exactly what I've heard from others. Most people never made it home before it failed. Under warranty, you're owed a new one but do you really just want a replacement OEM that is going to fail again? sigh. Bad QC KTM.

$150 to install a clutch is a VERY good price... don't lose the number for that shop.

Good point.

Wonderful ! But if i burn the clutch i will have ti change the whole kit ?(900+ euros)
@AdamChandler862 жыл бұрын
That’s a good question. They sell a clutch pack which is just the disks for a couple of hundred dollars which is a little bit more than the OEM kit from KTM.

I've seen there's some kind of mod I do not recognize. You have It between the rear break pedal and the clutch. It's a black piece. Also, you grab It at the last seconds of the video. What is that?
@AdamChandler862 жыл бұрын
Hi. That's actually not a modification. It threw me off as well because it's something that was added to latter model (2020 and later) 690/701 bikes. I actually don't remember what it is but some older bikes don't have it.

Was that an auto clutch?
@AdamChandler863 жыл бұрын
Yes it is. I put these on every dirt bike. It makes climbing up hills and over terrain very easy. I can come to a stop in any gear and not stall and start in 2nd much easier and jump over logs without any clutch work. It's a cheater clutch but it's really revolutionary in making the riding experience much better.
