A traditional rice cooker (the ones which are like 3l and doesn’t have settings) might have helped with the cooking problem. They’re mainly for cooking rice, but you can fry things in it and make soup in it as well, even steam bread in a small metal pot (did this a lot with the family’s zojirushi rice cooker). For bugs - chrysanthemums can help deter a lot of em since they’ve got some kind of thing that’s poisonous to bugs but harmless to humans and pets, and since they sell dried stuff for tea cheapish in Singapore it might have helped with the bug problems you had (I think mint is also good for making ants eff off but idk grain of salt on that one). Late advice tho rip, but overall looks like a pretty cool place and a super neat bathroom

Not sure if you noticed but you've also captured one of the distinct sounds of Singapore... Of the sweeping in the background at around 16:35.... Roads used to be swept by hand like that to clear leaves but with mechanisation it's getting less and less. Mostly in gardens and irregular spaces now...

This school is super nice! My cousin lives in Singapore and went to school there. She says the strict (and somewhat weird?) laws are worth the high quality of life. What's your take since you lived there for a while?
@KatChats.5 жыл бұрын
I agree, once you live there you don't think much about them since for me at least the laws were about things I wouldn't do anyways. Makes things more clean and organized which is a plus :)

Is this the same accommodation for MBA students?
@irinapolishchuk96635 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for the video, it helps a lot because I will be staying in the same room next semester! I was wondering, how strict are they with visitors? I know in the rules it says no one can stay after 11pm, but do they actually check? Is it the same like the rice cooker haha?
@KatChats.5 жыл бұрын
not strict at all, I was in a 4-room flat and all 4 of us had guests sleeping over even for varying lengths of time. We just made sure it wasn't super obvious when the cleaners came or if there was a flat inspection. Even in the exchange students group chats we would lend out air-mattresses to each other xD You just have to make sure your flatmates are cool with it and won't tell on you :P
@irinapolishchuk96635 жыл бұрын
@@KatChats. oh that's great to hear! My boyfriend wanted to come visit me haha and I read all the strict rules on how you have an "open door policy when being with an opposite gender" :D sounded like they would take id cards when guests enter, or have inspection at 11pm haha. Thanks a lot for the insight!
@KatChats.5 жыл бұрын
@@irinapolishchuk9663 Oh yeah nothing like that when I was there, my boyfriend stayed for like 2 weeks once xD There was no way for them to really know since there was nobody that ever came to check for that sort of thing (despite all the rules they listed)

I'm thinking of applying here through my uni's exchange program for next year! Was it hard to get your dorm? Interesting tour! well, it's not fancy and i can sense the disappointment in your voice while speaking! but i guess it's a worthy experience for crafting who you want to become! personally, my biggest issue would be the [cockroach] problem! i have zoophobia so that would be a real challenge for me! I am learning Finnish and looking forward to move to Finland permanently in order to live with my [Finnish] girlfriend. As you are aware, Finnish resources are extremely limited and difficult to find. I would be thankful to see more [language] videos specially with a focus upon grammar! of course your videos must be suitable for other viewers too as well as being pleasant for you to make! but generally i'm hoping to see more of this context! since i'm outside of Finland currently, your channel became one of my connective tunnels through Finland! Language, Culture, Facts, Comparisons and Tips! i have to add, your videos have good vibes and you seem an interesting person and that became a bonus! i like your context! by the way, i've noticed a few interesting points which i thought i had to share! -I love psychology like you! and my plan is to study psychology in Finland once i settled! -My girlfriend is vegetarian like you! -Also my girlfriend studying to be veterinarian just how you had this career in mind before!
