As someone who has gotten this platinum, i want to say that the VR missions are my least favourite part of the game, they feel over bloated with how many there are, the variety missions with mgs1 sniper took me 2 days to complete, and i dont think i have ever been so angry with a game before. As well as that, i was also stupid enough to forget to pick up the body armour in the extreme run of the story, so i was doing the ray and solidus boss fights without any rations, and only able to take 1 hit before dying.... this platinum is frustrating beyond belief at times, but my god it feels amazing to finally pop that sweet sweet hard earned platinum trophy. The Journey took me almost an entire year, and i salute you for taking this game on and platting it, you absolute trooper!

The VR missions were my least favourite part of the game too. Such a grind. Missing the body armour on extreme is unfortunate. Fair play to your for sticking with it.

The time VR takes is quite long (~30 hours) but very few missions are hard, even if the hard ones are really hard. Worst are probably MGS1 grenades or sniping cover missions I'd say

@@ceruxii3079 the pressure sensitivity when doing the AK hold up missions is so bad, i wish i had done that part on Vita, cause at least then you can use the d-pad to raise and lower weapons

I died twice on the elevator ride on chapter 7, once in the Ishimura on chapter 10, once on chapter 11, I died on chapter 12 because I walked into the drill, and twice on the final boss. But it was worth it as the foam finger is probably the best reward weapon I have ever got. Also when would it be possible to do a platinum journey on dead space 3?

This was a very entertaining watch, I thank you for pushing through and sharing your journey. .. On the note of Emma, most MGS players didn't even like it back then. We all agree it felt weird, controlled horrible and seemed to be massively shoehorned in... Mostly the swimming bit, the sniper part on older consoles wasn't AS bad, but back then we just kind of accepted janky MGS controls, heh. Also the swimming section brought us one of Riden's most beloved memes... "We managed to avoid drowning!"

I suppose it’s too late to mention this but taking the Diazepam all in a row like that negates the long term effect; you must take one at a time and unfortunately wait for your hands to shake for the next to be effective. I’m pretty sure anyway..

21:10 Fun fact: In MGS1, the medicine was called Diazepam, which is a real chemical more commonly known as Valium. From MGS2 on, the medicine was renamed to the fictional Pentazemin to discourage people from taking 5 Valium at a time like Snake does in the game.

@@AdamMcDermott 7 months later, I decided to go for it and finally did it after weeks of struggling with the MGS1 Hold Up VR missions (Controls are shit), Sniping VR missions (controls are still shit) and the bosses on Extreme difficulty. Seeing that Platinum pop was such a relief. Until I decided to transfer my save to my Vita. Everything unlocked but something was missing...the VR mission trophies. To my horror, the Vita says "Trophies disabled for this save" when using my VR mission save. That's right. If i'm to get the Platinum on the Vita version...I have to go through the entire VR mission ordeal...AGAIN? I am gutted. I don't think I have the willpower to put myself through 500 missions and 25+ hours of struggling again.
