Jake still never answered; Why he include ImAlex and Cody Ko in thumbnail? He never addressed violence or crimes against women, nor did he call out the content creators for using their channels for protection. Instead he complained about not enough people donating to his charity. What does that have to do with those content creators or their crimes? Oh- it was nothing to do with it, just clickbaiting the traumas those men have caused cause you wanted people to click and hear about your charity. Vile.

@@nataliecampos3787 imallex physically and emotionally abused his ex and cody ko slept with a 17 year old in his late 20s
@Joemom8008510 күн бұрын
@ Tana mongeau spoke out that Cody Ko slept with her when she was 17 and he was ~25 (idk, mid 20s). His crimes are being predatory and using his channel as leverage to creep on young girls. There was another 15/16 year old and Cody stood by his best friend, that in college drugged, abused, and recorded a woman. Both creators pretend to be feminists and are outspoken about women rights, yet their actions against women have been abusive. ImAlex had 3 exes who came out with abuse and degrading traits claims against him. 1 of his exes, Alice, documented a lot of her final days with him and the abuse was brutal. She mentioned him kicking her back, pulling her by her hood, covering her mouth, and other physical actions while constantly yelling and degrading her. When she got out of their house/ situation, Alex wrecked all her materials and technology causing hundreds of damage costs. Alex kept texting Alice, on any social media dms, emails, created new numbers or used apps to avoid blocks, etc to harass her. Alice had to open up a police case, idk if anything came out of it but I hope she can get protection from him. In general, harm against women. So, knowing the abuse these men have done to women (and for Cody Ko, girls); what does that have to do with other content creators, including ones that Jake knows, not donating to his charity? Unless he addresses that in the past one of those men mislead him about donating to his charity, Jake had the abusive men on his thumbnail to draw in clicks and rage/ support (rage against bad men and support Jake, the angle, for speaking up against them and their harm). I think that’s really scummy of Jake to do.
@thaloblue10 күн бұрын
That pisses me off more than anything else. Those are two abusive predators he put on the thumbnail. Thumbnails are so important to KZbin culture that there are people who make a living just by designing and editing thumbnails. Mr Beast would easily drop five figures on a high quality thumbnail. It is a preview of the video and contains all of the allusions to what the video contains. So there is NO doubt about the fact that Jake was drawing a false equivalency between his peers not giving him money to a statutory rapist and a serial abuser. That is absolutely sickening. The only way he could possibly be more offensive is if he put H!tler in the thumbnail.
@atheistangel72536 күн бұрын

Jake cannot convince me that he thought 'only his core audience' or 'friends' would be watching this video when he intentionally put two incredibly controversial men known for committing acts of violence against women in the thumbnail. They had absolutely nothing to do with the video. To top it off, if you want to post a message to your 'core audience' and friends, why not post this on your Instagram story or on a second channel? His intentions are so obvious. He was clickbaiting in hopes to garner enough attention, then utilize the sympathy of the viewers to pressure his audience and other large creators to donate and talk about it.

I’m a tax accountant and the fact that in his aid applications he has people email tax documents to his personal email account is INSANE. If I sent an email containing any piece of information from someone’s tax return to my coworker, I would be fired from my job on the spot. We use specially designed encryption services to be transferring files that are so sensitive, obtaining tax documents is like the absolute #1 easiest way to steal someone’s identity and we go through so many safeguards to protect data like that. He is absolutely not being safe in how he is operating his charity. Assuming that he requires tax documents to prove that these folks are in financial need, it would be an absolute tragedy if any of them got their identities stolen and the little money they have stolen along with.

Yes, I mean having proper secure transfer systems is potentially expensive and I get that is hard for a fledgling charity but if you are requesting extremely sensitive documents from people it is an absolute necessity. These sorts of things are why other charities do need to spend money on things outside of directly helping people because it is necessary to protect the people you are helping.

As a tax accountant, what do you think, of him literally admitting that he took 90% of the profits from his Never Stop merch collection 30:50 then awkwardly trying to explain it away 31:41 it doesn't make any sense. I believe he may have pocketed 90% of his charity merch drop profits and used it on medical bills or whatever I'm not sure I just don't see anyone talking about this he acts so suspiciously that it makes me question the intentions of this Jake Dooface and perhaps his charity is a guise to cover his medical bills or pay for other things but idk I don't trust him
@RealQwerty199811 күн бұрын
@@freergillettlaws7796 from my perspective it seems to make sense and be legal if he has the entities established in the way that he says he does. From the info from this video and his apology video he states that the “never stop fund” is a 501c3 non profit organization which is the fairly standard structure for a charitable organization, he states that the “never stop shop” is a separate legal entity and thus would not be subject to any of the regulations of a 501c3 organization. From the way he explains it, he is selling merchandise through his for profit company and then donating 20% of the profits (after expenses) to the “never stop fund” non profit. This is extremely common for businesses that also have a charity organization attached and if he is doing everything he says in the video then it is all above board and legal. And honestly if that is the way he has it set up, that would be my recommendation for business/charity coordinating structure that I would advise my client to do.

I completely agree the only think I would say is any job with a chronic illness is hard; but with that being said he is not awear of his privilege. Most chronically ill/ disabled people apart of AFAB, POC, LGBTQIA+ communities who are creators are so awear of their privilege in jobs, yes it make be more difficult for them compared to other creators but for him to hide behind his illness. To be so “oh woe is me” is a big slap in the face to every other chronically ill/ disabled person who has to do jobs that are genuinely killing us in order to survive. With that being said because he’s a straight yt man so the algorithm already favours him so it was easier for him to get big. Now so many people are talking about him so now different audiences are seeing him being a shit ; and honestly it makes all the stereotypes about us look true. (Not to same extent Ava has put trans people in actual harms way)It’s like how how many young people were introduced to trans people through Ava Tyson who is one of the only people that actually perpetuates the narrative about trans people the right is trying to push. Through his own victimisation he has indirectly hurt the people he’s trying to help with his charity……

@pippycat284210 күн бұрын
I had a lot of the same thoughts. Part of living as someone with chronic illness/pain is knowing how your disability uniquely impacts YOU, and it’s something we learn through experience. If he knows his health impacts his mood and judgement then he needs to take that into account in the way he acts. Just like non-disabled people still need to take into account how their emotions affect their actions. I was so happy for him at first to see a commentary KZbinr with a physical disability that’s similar to mine have success, but over time I’ve seen him (probably accidentally, but the point still stands) perpetuate harmful stereotypes of disabled people through his actions and how he seems to use his condition as an excuse. His health complications can be an explanation, but never an excuse.

As a disabled person with MS and Lupus, two conditions that ARE well-researched and definitely undisputedly exist as medical diagnoses, I was rejected disability pay so many times I gave up once my partner started making more money, and now I just try to handle everything at home (bc I literally can’t work and struggle to get hired as a visibly disabled person) and live modestly. Disability pays $700-$800 per month, at least in my state. If he were on disability, he would not also be able to continue making money from youtube. You can’t get disability if you’re employed and certainly not with a job where he’s likely making more than most other disabled people are as service workers. So why does he keep saying he’s trying to get on disability pay?
@Joemom8008511 күн бұрын
I was thinking the same thing but ig the simple answer is, for some reason, he believes he is entitled to it. Already working and making more money that most can’t dream of making, but it’s not enough for him apparently. Idk what was going through his head because gaining disability would lead to him having to retire the charity. He is just being selfish.
@snakesonaframe266811 күн бұрын
Does that kind of thing vary by state, or are disability pay rules federal law? That could explain it? However if that isn’t the case, I agree with you.
@gens801311 күн бұрын
@@snakesonaframe2668 most of the time, at least in my experience among other disabled people, when we say Disability (as in applying for Disability pay) we mean federal, but there are a few states that add on disability benefits. Federal is just the main source, and it’s very hard to receive while working, although technically possible. Usually, even if you aren’t working, disability payments aren’t much - it’s hard to pay even just very basic cost of living in most cities on disability receiving the maximum benefits. You’re generally deemed completely inelligible to receive disability if you earn over $1500 a month. But even then, the last time I was rejected for Disability before giving up, even though I hadn’t had a job since the last time I’d applied, I was denied bc my long-term live in partner (not married yet) apparently made too much money for ME to qualify, and that was when we were making less than we are now (thank God we’re more financially stable now) and we were still struggling to get by paying $1000 rent on a 725 sq. ft. average apartment in Texas. From what I can tell, state benefits are also difficult to qualify for unless you’re very low income AND you have years of medical documentation that they deem makes you “disabled enough.” My best friend worked for an organization that helped guide people/families through the process of filing for disability, and even people born with genetic disabilities that rendered them unable to walk or speak would be denied disability for like 15 years straight for not being “disabled enough” to qualify, and it was very depressing for my friend to witness every day. So yeah, very unlikely Jake would ever be accepted for disability with a condition many in the medical community don’t even consider a real diagnosis (the government will look for any reason to deny you) - and if he was, he’d have to be making hardly anything from youtube, AND he’d have to have next to nothing in terms of savings/net worth.

I think your right on the money (no pun intended) about Jake being mad about not making more money himself. When you said that I just thought it makes perfect sense that he is projecting those feelings onto his charity. I think he’s just projecting a general feeling of insecurity or not being enough. Charity doing well = he can feel good about himself.

I think he has in a way, but he has never learned how to take it through the ego. He deflects it onto something else. His father really ain’t shit and allegedly complains about Jake in his hometown and insists Jake isn’t really disabled. Being rejected by your own father is painful, for sure, too painful to take through the ego without lots of therapy. Some of the people he went to high school with believe his dad and attack him online, which is basically bullying. And what I mean by “taking it through the ego” means sitting with the misery and heartache of those rejections and talking through what it all means. Telling himself “those people rejecting me does NOT mean I lack worth.” Validating himself and working against the urge to express self hatred. I think he instead attributes the rejection to some external factor like “oh its because i am disabled” or “or it’s because they are crazy” and he just moves on without going deeper to address the anguish those rejections are causing. Go to therapy, folks.

He won't be able to prove disability *until he stops making videos* so that he can prove that he is, and this is important, *unable to work because of a disabling condition.* But if he did and he has money in savings he still wouldn't qualify because there are income and asset limits for disabiliry approval, and while that sucks, he's talking about it like he is uniquely and unduly affected when in fact many, many people who are much poorer and much less able to work than him are getting denied disability benefits every day. He has a platform, but does he use it to shed light on how fucked up the disability insurance system is for people with less privilege than him? Nope, he just bitches about how he doesn't wanna do his job. Bro needs to grow up and face reality.

As someone with disabilities, I only disagree with you in two ways. 1) Every job is exponentially more difficult as a chronically ill/disabled individual. So even though you do a lot of the same work, it’s impossible to know what it’s like to do it in constant pain. (it’s very difficult mentally as well as physically) 2) Even though you might make similar amounts of money, healthcare in America is soooooo expensive. I’m sure he makes a lot, but that doesn’t mean you take home the same amount of money. Just the knee surgery he’s in the hospital for will probably thousands of dollars. And I think he’s in the hospital and drs appointments a lot which is just so much money. He was still completely in the wrong and should definitely be held accountable for his actions though.

a nuance with content creators complaining about the job that i don’t hear mentioned enough is the difference between working mostly for yourself vs working for a company. like an hourly or salaried role is predicated on making profit for a corporation and the quality of / time spent on your work doesn’t translate to your success necessarily. it’s a much more dehumanizing experience vs being able to actually build and reap the rewards of your success by working hard

agree with almost 100%. but the comment about his money seems out of place when we're talking about a self-employed and disabled american. a lot of his income could be going to medical bills and health insurance. doesnt excuse his behaviour whatsoever. what his actions are manipulative and thoughtless. but even people with good insurance from their employer can pay hundreds of dollars a month. and if he is regularly getting multiple medications, that adds up quick. copays are the same, they add up quick so quickly when you have to regularly see doctors. and on top of that, simply paying for his surgeries is thousands of dollars - at the low end! in the us you can be making 6 figures and still get into medical debt if you or someone you love becomes chronically ill. the more care you need, the more the insurance company is gonna put up a fight. there's a reason why people believe the adjuster, despite his extremely privileged background, felt the weight of the us's healthcare system. i can not understate enough that unless you're FILTHY RICH, like never have to worry about making money again rich, you gotta worry about healthcare. this is especially true for disabled people. edit: grammar and typos 🤓

Thank you for this comment! I think while Jake still deserves the criticism for threatening blackmail and being just really awful in the video, then saying "you can't come after me because I'm in the hospital" as a shield, and also Jake *is* in a relatively privileged position compared to most people on Earth, disabled and not, it is important to recognize that in the US he is likely paying SO much money towards his medical bills and that this is why he has such anxiety about income. I kept thinking about it throughout the video whenever Adam would mention the money thing. I do think though, that maybe he should close the charity for now and focus on his own stuff, if that's causing him so much stress. Not that this will immediately fix any medical bill issues he has - that shit is crazy (fellow American here lol) - but clearly the charity is adding to both his stress and his sense of entitlement. He could be directing people to charities that do good work in the meantime, and potentially reopen Never Stop (ideally with more know-how and correct processes and stuff that make it more trustworthy) when he is ready and has both the bandwidth and the professionalism for it.
@ella410810 күн бұрын
@@ccb36 Yes! I couldn’t have said it better myself. He really should consider taking a step back from the charity. His actions are completely unprofessional. Having so much frustration built up over health care that SHOULD be a right can make anyone go crazy - it's not just about the physical health, but it's extremely exhausting and draining to have to worry about finances and insurance on top of all the health issues. And if they are chronic, you end up stuck in this circle that can be veery anxiety inducing, because there is absolutely no prospect of it ever ending. (And honestly, if you don't have chronic health issues, you cannot understand his workload. Not everyone has the same capacity.)
