People obviously come here expecting exceptional climbing (for obvious reasons), but the cinematography is also consistently top notch. Adam really has some very talented filmmakers in this team, if you never handled a camera it's hard to explain how challenging all of this is from a technical standpoint in this kind of cave. The angles, the light... it really takes serious expertise to make these shots look as amazing as they do. I promise you, try it, it'll look like pixel soup :) Congrats to the whole team !
@WanderAndringa2 жыл бұрын
For sure the camera team did a great job! But climbing at the edge of a cave actually provides super nice natural contrast, which if you know what you are doing benefits you as a filmer. The shade provided by the tree's also helps blocking the harshness of the sky a bit. Again, I don't want to downplay the work of the crew here. Just saying I would be happy to film at this location, as opposed to a cliff in full sunlight in the middle of the day for example.

Outside of great editing, and color, It's really just the use of a tripod. Seems to be taboo in most climbing filmmakers. Maybe cumbersome to get into the crag? Most climbing filmmakers feel the need to constantly be moving and adjusting exposures during shots. Bouldering videos are the worst. Climbing filmmakers need to learn to relax, put the camera on a set of sticks, and let the subject lead the way.

@@Thatclimbingirl 7b. Pretty much a 6c with a single hard move at the very and, the one where he puts a kneebar in and reaches far with his left into this huge opening. Its quite a reach but there are 4 methods to do it, so anyone can do the move.

@@Thatclimbingirl Thats why I said most climbers. 7b is a grade that almost anyone can achieve in time though. But it sure is not an easy feat and requires training and devotion. But I still think its nice that people can "taste the glory" and try parts of these super hard routes. I mean if you compare it to 9a, 7b is nothing. This route also has a nice history in that it has been a super popular testpiece in my country fot several years and back in the days it was considered super hard, reserved for only the best climbers around.

@sdhutusice63142 жыл бұрын
If you watch on mobile, the subtitles can drop after ad. To solve this, after the ad, go to settings (the geared wheel top right side when you tap the video), then select subtitles and select the language you want. It's a shame you have to do it this way as sometimes subtitles became unavailable if you try to use the subtitles icon, even though the subtitles can still be turned on.
@DrewNorthup2 жыл бұрын
@@sdhutusice6314 I had tried that to no avail. What is highly likely is that after the Ad I got switched over to a different video server cluster that didn't have the captions data synch'd over yet. It is a Video-first platform after all.
