I’m so happy that this year my gym is adding a spray wall. Its a relatively small bouldering gym but the routesetters are incredible, so its nice to see that my beloved gym is getting a much needed feature

I watched this video after watching More Magnus bouldering video. It’s incredible you two could still climb at that level after 7 hours of strength challenges and training. It also explains why you both stumbled here and there. Incredible endurance and strength. Wow.

When I started climbing we only had a spray wall. Me and a few of my buddies started making our own routes, and I truly think making your own routes on a spray wall is an extremely good way to understand climbing better.

It was after several days of climbing in a row, and I work as a trim carpenter, always working with my hands and a lot over my head. But I had my surgery a month ago and am heading in the right direction 👍 thanks for asking!

It's insane how Magnus, at his age, probably not spending as much time training as the much younger Adam (who is training for the Olympics), can still be very much in the same ballpark, keeping up. That's just mind boggling to me, the longevity of such a high level.

Magnus is 4 years older than Adam, and 35 is not really that old for endurance/strength sports, especially outside of the professional circuit. I bet he'll be very strong for quite a while!

What is it that makes climbing on the spray wall so much better compared to doing the preset boulders? at 19:10 , why does the spraywall transfer so good to hard rock climbing?

Because you can set the problems the way you want and need for your rock climbing goals, and not only what market kind of demands, which is often coordination jumps and balancy slabs. It is cool and fun, but not so useful on the rock. Even slabs on the rock are more often about standing on tiny edges rather than flat volumes. In general, perecentage of "physical" boulders that make you strong in a natural way, is quite low on commercially set problems.
