Sheffield is the epicentre of climbing in the UK. The proximity of the Peak District and its limestone and gritstone crags makes this town really unique for climbers. After the video of Magnus Midtbø from Schoolroom in Sheffield, there is a brand new video on my YT channel from the outdoor crags of Sheffield. It is inspired by a classic film with Jerry Moffatt, and Ben Moon called The Real Thing from the 90s (which is absolutely recommended, you can find it on YT). Included checking wet holds of Hubble, old school bouldering in Stoney Middleton and flash of The Ace 8B on grit.
Starring Ben Moon, Jerry Moffatt and Magnus Midtbø . Me and my team we are really proud of this video. ⚡

@@_MRK87 As far as I understand it, basically modern bouldering nowadays has little in common with rock climbing. Competition routes are more often than not full of jumps and large dynamic moves (probably more attractive for average viewers...) and in many cases it's actually more like a parkour on climbing wall than actual climbing, because all these moves are rarely ever usable outside of the gym on real rock - well, except for this one moment...

I get the sense it's like being someone who watched Man O' War race back in the 1920s and then some 53 years later you go back to watch Secretariat set untouchable records at the Triple Crown for all 3 races. @@Ashilax1 Genetics play a role. Getting back into shape this quickly, just as with getting in shape in the first place, needs the right amount of everything - age, bones, hormones, money, time, ... While Moon did show a generous amount of humility, the fact that he could go back to climbing that quickly and focus on it enough to achieve this are pretty likely coming from a privileged place. I mean, most parents can't even find enough sleep to do any hobbies for the first year or so...

Yet again, (Magic) Adam's purity and likeability shines through this video. The titans Ben and Johnny admiring Adam's presence with humbleness and intuition. The content is absolutely delightful and it is such an inspiration for these two generations of climbers to meet and chat and joke and poke each other. Fantastic and thank you!

This is one of the best pieces of free content I have seen in our industry, it's so incredible we can just see things of this quality pop up! Reverent, honest, and great to see people really enjoying each other's company, just perfect, what a triumph. Hope you all had as much of a blast as it seems, I will watch anything else you put out like this!

Absolutely fantastic movie, the retro throwback to the OG was so well done and you genuinely looked the happiest and most comfortable I’ve ever seen you with Ben and Gerry. Good banter and fantastic respect between you all.
