The perfect pattern is the pattern that acdc used in almost all their songs, it keeps time perfectly and is easy
@johnmccoy20495 жыл бұрын
Any combo of RLLK and RLRLLK in 32nd notes where the doubles are ghosted on the snare and the accents are orchestrated around the kit. The first left stroke in the second pattern can also be ghosted to add a bit more spice. Creating unique combos of these patterns can sound great where the accent is moved from the downbeat to the offbeat and back again. Mike Johnston has a video on this with a specific pattern but I've loved getting creative with it and exploring options.

Putting the pattern in the thumbnail makes me even more likely to watch the video, because now that I know how _perfect_ it *looks,* I want to hear it in action. Your use of similes in regards to language and music was also helpful. Thanks for breaking down the pattern so clearly, as always, and showing different applications for it!

Hey man, just wanted to say I appreciate how clearly you explain the concepts in this video. You're super well spoken and it makes it incredibly easy to follow. A big breath of fresh air after watching so many tutorials of people jump editing between every 3 words they say and still taking forever to for them to get to the point.

As someone who writes music with keyboard and computer and not a drummer, this still helps a lot with ideas and trying to keep things believable when having to do something more "acoustic" and not synth. This is very cool!

I need you to know I am 52. Played drums from 15 to 25 and never cared about technique or reading. It was about playing loud and stoned. Then at 25 I just stopped playing. Then at 45 I played at a friends request and fell in love with drums in a way I never had before. I played everyday from 45 to 49. Some days 4-5 hrs. Then hit a devastating divorce (had nothing to do with drums) and couldn’t play for at least a year and a half. Then life changed and I was playing again everyday. I have always wanted lessons but don’t resonate via online. So I forged forward with this insane desire to play and get better. Anyway for a long time I felt like I needed more and I stumbled on this and it opened up a whole new world. THANK YOU for helping me turn another new page!

I have two perfect patterns. The inverted Paradidledidle( RLLRRL) and RLL which I combine in various forms. If we call the first one A and second one B I can create patterns like ABAB, AABB, AAAB, etc. without thinking about it. It's cool because it creates patterns of six or nine notes and can be easily applied in triplets. If I want to add a kick in it I usually play the single Right hand hits on a cymbal with the kick.
