had a volca kick, sold it... regretted doing that, the smooth supportive bass/ghost kicks for your 808 or 909 machines gives it so much groove. I bought the kick again, this time to keep forever.

Exactly the same as me. It's one of my favourite volcas now

I was a bit peed off I bought it thinking it could do a bit more ... but I got a tr o 8 to and this fills the gap between melody and thump thump .. so it's worked out ok

@@sulgypolo it works great for minimal blips too! Shorten the decay bring the pitch up or just use it as a synth play notes along your track

@@boothbuster it has… it got sold with a keys and bass… and those were amazing sounding synths. I wish I still had them, sorta, the sake of having them versus not using them is probably best that it’s with a happy owner. Now as far as the kick goes, you may find the Behringer Edge doing amazing justice either paired with our without the Kick! Especially since it’s got midi in, easy control.

Very good explanation regarding how the VCO/VCF/LFO etc works in Sythn's

Pretty amazing that out of all the analog drum machines - the one that uses the simplest concept gets the best sounding kicks and with a wide range of timbre! Really looking forward to mine based on what I've heard here and in other videos. I could never pull the trigger on Jomox or Vermona dedicated kick machines - Jomox seemed to be one sound only but great, but not so fun to control (maybe it's fine though, would like to get one someday)... Vermona has such wonderful controls, but then weird super-wide pitch range and then the kick doesn't sound much different from the Vermona's kick circuit, so it just seems like a splurge. Still would like to try a Tanzbar hands-on also someday. But this thing just sounds like the real 808/909 competitor (all in one standalone unit with shaping of the sound and the thump that will sound good).

You can create feedback loops on an analog mixer to make an oscillator in a similar way.

Get a bitcrusher on the NTS1. I shunted the volca nubass through it and it was quality.

@@rorz999 I am also using it through the filter in on the Td3 303 clone. That's makes for some funs. Not yet tried it with a midi cable but you can layer over each other for 2 lines or peaks on notes. The main drawback I found on the Nubass is that it doesn't have a classical sound and sounds a bit nice. Still fun though and the squeal is unreal!
