Adar Poonawalla, Chairman, and Abhay Bhutada MD of Poonawalla Fincorp, on Monday, said that the company will focus on small ticket loans. In an exclusive interview with ET NOW's Ajaya Sharma, Poonawalla spoke about the company's future plans and emphasised that the management is stressing scaling up the company with a growth rate of 30-40 per cent per annum over the next four-five years.
"The cash that we are getting is also adding to the capitalisation of the company. The net worth of the company is going to be 8-9000 crore after the taxes are paid for this transaction. We are hardly 1.5 times levered so the scope over the next four-five years allows us to go without having to raise any capital. We can easily reach an AUM of 40-50,000 crore in that time span. 30-40 per cent is a good growth rate. It is not too much. You do not want to grow a finance company too fast," Poonawalla said. In conversation with Ajaya Sharma on ET Now Exclusive.
