That's the thing with different brands of Markers. The Black is not always straight pitch black. Some have a slight tint to them. Some are a little like dark choc with little amounts of brown, some are like blued steel, with a slight blue undertone, some end up more like a very soft graphite, slightly greyish. So... apply more layers might also change the overall look... 🍫 Brown for the next one, please oO(would bring nice vintage vibe, like some old, little faded photograph)

Awesome job! I did this once with a Scrawlrbox (art mystery box) a few years back about a year or two before I started my channel. There were 6 different black markers from DVD pens to sharpies to various other permanent markers (including one that looked like lego). It was hard but they were different enough to get a bit of variety.

I giggled at when you gave in to the impulse to nom the small colouring book (not just me then? 😂) And the bloopers at the end were *chef's kiss* you look like you were having so much fun. The artwork was phenomenal too. I know you're expecting us to pick white (and honestly, yes. It will probably win 😅) but my choice is brown because there is such a range of browns and it's such a beautiful, versatile colour and I love using it. My second skin tone set is almost dead... But I'll have to use the tip on keeping the almost dead markers for a different visual texture when I'm colouring. That's a good tip, thank you

Using fineliners is not technically cheating. They are ink like a marker. I kinda thought you might use crosshatching or stippling to create more using only black. I like your technique and it turned out pretty cool.

Using the white color of the paper is marvelous, its real hard with only black. The undertone of the black matters a lot. like Copic 100 vs 110. But you have used only the black marker from different brands, really hard.

This was interesting. In not throwing away something unless it is totally useless, you are just like me! I too find uses for old broken dry things. Dry brushing is one of my fave techniques. I wonder though, could you achieve a greater range of lighter gradients by using colourless blender somehow? Like that chameleon marker tip-to-tip thingy? Allow the colorless blender to absorb some ink and then use it as it fades out to create gradient? But this way is harder and a lot more interesting. I am glad you didnt just do the coicc book style (which looks awesome though) and leave it at that. This was pretty good. The beauty of these challenges is that it forces you look at your supplies in totally different ways and learn new things about the medium, color, supply and techniques. And you do them very well. Keep it up.
