Hi Keith, How do you apply a Cisco license to those IOS_L2

I added a VIOS-L2 and started it. When i console in, i just have a black screen and no text after waiting 10 mins. My GNS3 VM is configured for 4 cpus and 8gb mem. I have no errors being shown either.

In the console window, did you try hitting enter on the black screen?

Does this image require any license file to be installed in GNS3 to properly run? I still get an empty black screen when consoling in.

Hi all, The biggest bug in majority of available l2 ios images is all ports by default is showing up and connected. you will not be able to see when the ports flaps. If any one found any solution to this please comment.

You can select HAXM option during install GNS3.

Pero tengo un problema al momento de iniciar el switch, me sale un mensaje de error diciendo "HAXM acceleration support is not installed on this host" ¿que es exactamente HAXM acceleration support ? ¿como puedo instalarlo?. Would the file time dictate whether it works or not? I have tried installing the .bin hardware files. I am having the same issue as Eric lannone. I notice your installation file is .qcow2, does this mean my .bin image will not work?

To the best of my knowledge, you need the qcow file for the virtual switch images to work. .bin is a compressed file and your qcow will be a virtual file format. I’ve always used the qcow and never had any issue. I’ve never used the .bin for the virtual switches.

GNS3? It’s hardly buggy at all if you set it up properly. Still to this day one of the best virtual training simulators you can use without having to spend a ton of $$$ on VIRL or real equipment.

Yes.. It's working .. Actually the problem is what method we installaling the L2 and L3 switch images in GNS3 as various methods available for it. I did get frustrated with working on switches installed with wrong method. Finally after refering many vidoes online I could test almost all the feature of switches L2, L3. some of them are .. VLAN, VTP, L3 switch Routing, Inter VLAN Routing, Spanning Tree, Private VLAN
