Dimmers without a neutral wire tend to cause buzzing when dimmed for many LED lights. Learned that the hard way. I only buy caseta with neutral wire and have never had an issue since.

I have experienced this but mostly with non dimmable bulbs. Lutron does have a compatibility checker for light bulbs but you can just go with the Claro Smart Switch & Remote kit if you don't want dimming.

Any idea why the Caseta won't work with the Harmony remote? The Harmony finds the Lutron hub and goes out to my Lutron account but then says it can't find any devices connected to the Lutron hub. I have one switch and one pico remote connected to the Lutron hub and they work but they don't work with the Harmony remote.

Would one remote be able to control three switches? Like if I have the remote near the entry/exit of my home, I can just hit one remote to turn off or on those three switches on the other side of my house?

Yep, that is exactly what we have in the kitchen. There is a light switch across the room so I added a Pico remote to control all the lights in the room with one click.

Sent to Lutron: I am a long time supporter and purchaser of your products. To be brief I think you are making a huge mistake in the way that you have implemented secondary switches on the diva smart switch when paired with either the wired secondary switch or the newly announced diva pico remote. The paddle and the slider are a nice addition but the inability to dim or brighten the light that is being controlled by the main diva smart switch is a colossal mistake in my opinion. It’s highly likely that in a large room or in a top and bottom stairs arrangement of the switches the lamp level is not going to be where you want it to be. Yes being able to double tap to bring to full brightness is a help for safety reasons but it’s a completely undesirable result when trying to set the tone for the room. In a large room having to walk 25 feet to get to the switch with the slider is absolutely ridiculous! So then the only current solution is to use one of the traditional PICO remotes to solve that problem. Not a terrible solution but kind of kludgy when you look at the overall plan for how these units should work together. Ideally one could pair a diva smart switch with the paddle type secondary remote and have dim and brighten capability no matter what the setting of the slider may be. I think your mistake is that you were using the main switch with the slider as the functional primary for setting brightness when it in fact it is only one element of a larger system. Because of wiring limitations the location of the main switch may not even be the most used location! Imagine a particular fixture that is controlled by a main diva smart switch and then three other secondary pair paddle remotes. Only one of the switches can selectively control the brightness??? That makes no sense at all. I would suggest that you make a firmware update to solve this problem or make it a configuration option in terms of how the switch works. This functionality is a showstopper for me. Regards,

My house is full of smart bulbs. I wa t a simple paddle switch to replace my dumb toggle switch so ppl stop disabling my smart bulbs when they turn off the toggle switch. Some existing toggle switches are 4 gang units and I don't want to have to hire an electrician. Suggestions?
@TechWithBrett
@TechWithBrett Жыл бұрын
What brand of bulbs are they? What smart home platforms are you using? And you want to avoid doing any light switch replacement yourself, correct?
@cdarrigo
@cdarrigo Жыл бұрын
@@TechWithBrett Its a mix of Hue and Govee. I have no problem swapping out switches myself, but I don't want to have to add more electrical boxes etc. I was looking at the shelby relays, but they are so large and I'd need four of them. I don't have space in the electrical box for them all. I was hoping for a smart rocker switch that's the size of the currently dumb toggle switches (so all 4 will fit in the current box). They really only need to turn on/off the lights. Dimming is optional. The bulbs are grouped together (for example my kitchen lights are all govee, but the fam room is all hue), so maybe different switches that support the different protocols as long as the switches look similar enough. Thanks!

Ok good to know. For the Hue lights, the Lutron Aurora switch is amazing. I'll have to look into what could be done with Govee.

@@TechWithBrett the Lutron Aurora switch is a retrofit over my existing dumb toggle switch right? That might look weird in the bank of other switches (the round hue switches intermingled with the other toggle or paddle switches)

Lutron is becoming as confusing as Reolink. So now there’s a diva accessory switch AND a pico paddle!? What’s the difference? Or is the diva accessory switch just called the pico paddle now? Dude. Too much.
@TechWithBrett
@TechWithBrett Жыл бұрын
Great question and I actually need to make a full video about this. The Pico paddle remote can be placed anywhere for a 3-way switch, it has advanced 3-way where one click turns it to the Diva dim level setting and the second click turns it all the way on. The accessory switch requires existing wiring but it doesn't count towards your Smart Hub devices. So it really depends what your home needs. All previous Caséta products will still be available so you can choose what works for you.

This is basically the same thing as the accessory but in Pico format vs hard wired. The accessory doesn’t count towards your total device limit, while the Pico count.

Waste of money or Lutron trying to make money, they add things that we do not need almost every twice of year. If the created this paddle switch it’s supposed to dim not just to set of certain level. I that case I stain with regular pico remote and that’s it. Not a smart change
