You missed a couple of things. It has to be a T2 security chip mac, or an M series to do this. The iphone configurator also needs to share wifi so needs a single password wpa2 wifi not an enterprise one

@@theCMC Hi I used a wired connection, not neet that struggles with app configuration and sharing wi-fi it was really quick, need to see what's causing the block in the corp network because when we were monitoring the traffic from the macOS device there were no blocks being shown.

I tried to add an old Mac with OS Ventura but there is no screen for scanning there. The system asks for the region and the language on the next screen. It doesn`t show me it for scanning.

awesome video! thanks a lot. Is there anyway to remove a macbook from ABM / Intune and Azure AD (remove from organisation) but without wipe / reset the device?

There are a few steps to follow - You can remove the device from Intune using company portal app if enabled, then delete the device from Intune, remove the device from the assigned device group in intune and then the assigned apple enrollment profile. Go into ABM and remove the specific device from the assigned Intune server then delete the device from ABM. You don need to wipe the device then. Please note if moving to another Intune tenant Apple and Microsoft recommend wiping the device first.

Hi there, I dont know of a way to do this via ABM but you can through Intune with lost mode enable (supervised only)

I'm sure you figured this out by now, but I'm posting for others as I was also stuck on that. You have to "tap" your iPhone to the MacBook's Dynamic Island(i.e. notch) to get the "QR" bubble.

I need help here, I used someone's iPhone to add my mac to Apple business manager. I then delete the Apple configurator app on his phone and that's it. Is there anything i missed that I should have done?

why when i went through with the apple configurator app not 2 it add the device but when i restart i had the same setup screen again i can see the device in abm do i need to readd agin with configurator i am confused when did it do the setup again after being added and my only options where restart or shutdown... please help

Hi you say not 2 ? If you didn’t use 2 I can’t help as I’ve not used the first version but once you see the device in ABM at that point it has worked a no need to repeat.

Hi thank you for your reply yes i confirmed it is Apple Configurator 2 it’s the purple icon with the squares also I am an admin signing in with a managed Apple ID admin account in ABM and I cannot download anything inside App Store says I don’t have purchase rights or something like that I can download anything even like the apps I have set and got licenses for like 100 qty in abm apps I am so lost and confused

Hi Andy, how long it takes for the device to be ready to proceed with its enrollment? I got to the same part no issues on ABM side, neither at Intune however, device is shown as: State :Not Contacted and Last Contacted: Never , no blocks on Firewall so far. ERROR: Enrollment with management server failed. Unable to connect to the MDM server for your organization

Thiago, enrolment to the MDM server in ABM is pretty much instant but you do have to connect intune to ABM then sync the device. This can take a little while. Up to 30 mins in my experience. Then assign the device in intune to the enrolment policy

Not long. But once moved from configurator to intune (or other mdm) in ABM. It will be the device sync time to the mdm. Find your mdm connector token and press sync to hurry it up a little. Then it should show in the dep list in mdm and your default prestage

I have Apple Configurator installed on an iPhone 11. Can I use it to add another iPhone to Apple Business Manager? I've used your steps in the video but, when I get to the "Choose a Wi-Fi Network" and start the Apple Configurator", it just gives me a message "Looking for devices to add". I was trying to add an iPhone 6 as a test and thought it may eb too old but the blue emblem does show up if I am just trying to move the account from one phone to a new one. I cannot get it to show up with the Configuator. I am logged on to ABM with a managed Apple ID (Admin) in the app and on the iPhone itself. Any ideas?

Hold your iPhone close to the macbook while configurator 2 scanner is opened. It works via BT I guess.
