Add Bluetooth to Car Stereo to Stream or Play Music and Media Audio

This video explains how to add Bluetooth Music streaming Function to Car Stereo systems that have no built in Bluetooth or does not support streaming Music via Bluetooth. In order to achieve the demonstrated method your car stereo should have a aux in port. The Bluetooth dongle costs around £3 in UK from amazon. The addition of this Bluetooth dongle will not cause any interference with your built in car audio Bluetooth for calls.

the one I bought is no longer available for £3 on amazon UK , but there are few in range of £5-£9, just get any they are more or less the same when it comes to signal and audio quality.

My mobile phone connects to both BTs , the calls are via BMW built in BT & the music playback is via the usb dongle BT. Yes the iDrive shows the contacts which I can dial via steering control buttons or via voice activated function of BMW.

yes a usb bluetooth dongle receiver with 3.5mm aux out port & you will need the cable. Connect the usb BT dongle to the usb port & then connect a 3.5mm aux cable to BT dongle ( output) to the aux input port of your BMW or any other car. USB connection is necessary to supply power to the USB BT dongle.

sound quality is not bad , I am not a big fan of car stereo systems . To me it almost sounds the same if I connect my ipod with a legit Itunes track or listen it via my mobile phone via BT.
