lol Dude I dunno if you're being serious but I actually hate this show. Because I'm already at the mercy of KZbin tutorial rabbit hole hell because I'm trying to figure something out, and something tells me this guy probably has the solution to my problem but I have to tolerate him talking to me like I'm a complete idiot for like, 8 minutes. I don't know how people like this show. It legit frustrates me.

I would argue that you can also raise energy merely by moving elements from the weaker beats to the stronger beats. (Maybe that falls under "making an element more active" but by placement, not by quantity.)

Thanks! You make good educational videos 😁I have seen alle three "You Suck at Drums" several times, and I have surely learned a lot. But ... I need to learn how I make a drum session work with an instrumental recording in Ableton Live 11. I play the guitar, and I like to record popular songs which I organise in several tracks for guitar only. For that I sometimes need a drum track to back the whole thing a little up. Let's say I have a melody, where I have an instrumental intro, and after that I need drums for verse, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, and an outro where the drums stops before the song. How do I set that up in Ableton - so that the drum session starts at the right time, it shifts between verse, chorus and outro at the right time and stops at the right time. If you coukd help me with that I would very much appreciate it 👍

you have nice production tricks but I think you should consider that high "energy" is sometimes best achieved by slowing down / half timing the drums and reducing the number of elements. Half timing drums at the catchiest or loudest section is probably the easiest way to achieve a sense of power and energy

by halving them and then moving them back so they fill the empty space hope that made sense if not just look at what happens to those rectangles

You need to set the sample itself to 'Stretch' mode instead of 'Resample', you'll see the option when you double click the sample.
@teqnify633 жыл бұрын
It’s just changing the high hats from playing 8th notes to playing 16th notes. It has nothing to do with stretch or resample. Stretch and resample are for time-stretching the actual drum sound.
@Vegan_Kebab_In_My_Hand3 жыл бұрын
It divides note length by 2, it has nothing to do with time stretching, it only affects the midi notes.
