Besides modding, the only games I’d suggest you’d buy are if you’re a Pokémon fan, buying all the virtual console ones through the eshop will at least allow you to transfer to Pokémon home, but if you don’t care about that, homebrew is there

you don't have to but you really should if you can hack any old console or buy a flash card with it since i'd rather learn how to hack it pay nothing then support scalpers and resellers on ebay reselling old games for ridlclous prices. None of that money is going to nintendo. if every one just plays the roms they could not sell them for that much.

I've definitely been on a downloading spree this past year. Picked up all the Fire Emblem 3DS DLC, all the Dr. Mario games, DKC 1-3, Murasame Castle, the 3D Classics games, the Box Boy games, and the remaining Pushmo games I didn't have, among others.

Here’s what I bought in the last year: The important smash 3DS DLC, A few level course packs for NSMB2, Mario golf DLC, all stuff for Rusty‘s real deal baseball, the ace attorney games and it’s DLC, Rhythm heaven Megamix, all the Dillion games, all the box boy games, all the pushmo games, all Kirby E shop games, Dr. Mario miracle cure, Mario and Donkey Kong minis on the move, Pokémon dream radar, Pokémon battle Trozei, tank troopers, a couple DSI were games, good amount of virtual Console, Those being the Wario land games, the super Mario land trilogy, the game and watch gallery trilogy, earthbound, The mysterious Murasame Castle, I got all the applications I needed, in a few full games like Kid Icarus uprising I also got a few 3DS themes

Just mod your 3DS. You safe a ton off money. It’s super easy with a guide on KZbin. It takes les than 15 minutes. And it’s 100% safe. Make sure though you only buy software from the hshop that you own physically.

PSA to anyone 'sounding superior" about informing fellow 3ds users on the wonders of cfw... U are not going to get through to people, cuz their reason for no cfw will always outweigh the billion reasons to install cfw. If anyone is truly worried about the data on their 3ds, then installing cfw is the best answer for anyone with game and savedata concerns. It isnt a superiority thing by any stretch. simply 3ds players wanting to help another 3dsplayer. remember guys stock or not we're all still playing a dead console line. why not help the user base move on? The PSVita community did that and it's thriving under a new light, cfw.

Okay so some people don’t exactly know way I don’t want to hack/mod even just for custom themes and it is going to be a bit of a rant (WARNING will contain mentions of bullying, cyber bullying, depression and use of the R slur to a person with learning disabilities which is me btw). The main reason I was put off hacking or modding internally was due to people when I mentioned “that I will still f it up with hacking or modding even with the best guide” then someone called me f**king stupid and the worst was someone calling me the R slur it completely spelt out with ed at the end (instead of asking how to help) ,which took me back to when I was called that by classmates simply because I have learning disabilities which are Dyspraxia and Global Learning Delay, this was the second worst period of my life and ended up with me being diagnosed with depression. For those who don’t know I’m a virtual learner meaning I need a step-by-step tutorial with pictures or a video for example of an issue I have with written instructions is when I was playing Professor Layton VS Phoenix Wright I was stuck on a puzzle used the hints and followed them as they were written and tried to figure out the rest, I got it completely wrong didn’t understand why I looked up the solution which was photos with text and to me the hints didn’t tell me anything like the solution, which if I did the same with hacking or modding it would end the same way for me. Using the R slur to someone who struggles with stuff like this hurts and yes the person might not have known that I had a learning disabilities but that’s not an excuse to use it, as I was thinking about hacking or modding even for custom themes but I’ve been completely put off because of this and I probably won’t feel okay trying until the end of next year at the earliest as it took me years to get over being called the R slur and bullied at school. For those who wish to me help regarding hacking or modding thank you for being kind and understanding but thanks to some assholes I don’t want to even bother right now as I just feel like I did back in school not being able to do something everyone else can easily. Sorry for ranting but this is the only way to explain why I don’t want to hack or mod at all anymore and also if there’s any grammar mistakes it’s because of my dyspraxia and global learning delay. Also I cried writing this

All I can say to this is that I hope you do feel better and people have no reasons to be jerks to you over something silly. I must say though, stop commenting on comments telling people "not everyone wants to hack their 3DS" just because YOU personally don't want to. Installing CFW not only gives the system life after death, but gives users piece of mind for PROPER save backups. Do not discourage others from doing something that you feel you cannot do, especially something that might otherwise help them in the long run. Installing CFW is NOT just for piracy, but also piece of mind using Checkpoint for saves and GodMode to back up entire games you own. I play CTGP7 Mario Kart 7 mod all the time! Lol. But I feel for you, in regards to society and people, and I hope you still regularly play your 3DS regardless of if you mod it or not. ❤️🐨❤️

Just wanna throw in one more thing for anyone currently going absolutely insane: When you purchase the funds in the Eshop on the switch and realize that the link/button for merging funds is like, not there anymore, it seems the reason this button was removed is because the funds now merge automatically without the need for a manual input. I purchased 30 dollars worth of digital credit on the switch and soon realized the merge button was not under my balance. When i logged into my nintendo account and verified the shop menu section of the settings, it says in green "Funds have been merged" . It doesn't specify WHERE it merged, but i checked my balance on the 3DS and it matches the switch now. They could have said "Funds have been merged with your 3DS, etc" but that's just me being lawful. This video is still very much accurate as of this time. PS: Be mindful of the sales tax. You'll literally need to add a whole 10 dollars just for the taxes. -____-

I'm just exited for the 3DS to be abandonedware and it be completely fine to download the files for games completely legally. No store to officially buy the games means free access to those who want them! Physical copies are just a personal preference but it is an option if you want your wallet to be in pain.

Mmmh, I'm not so sure about that's how that works, as far as the legality of it. But yeah, I'm kind of at that point now where I just don't have the time or desire to run through an e-shop and buy a bunch of stuff that I may or may not play. I'm trying to future proof by making sure I at least have good hardware available, but if I someday just really want to play some retro 3ds game that doesn't exist on any store front, then yes I'm going to have to depend on those who did collect and upload these games and learn how to find that stuff and install it. That's just what we've been left with at the end of the day, it's not our fault we have to resort to such shady dealings, but that really feels like the only option left.

If Nintendo makes it so Pokemon X for example is no longer in stores and there is no official way to download the game, used games or piracy become your only options. Some would say those are the same thing but that's a different argument all together. Does Nintendo lose money from this? No. They themselves removed their ability to make money on the game. If Nintendo doesn't have the ability to make money on the game and makes it officially unavailable and you download the files, nothing was lost for Nintendo so no crime was committed.

If it wont give you the option to merge funds there's a chance that you have actually already merged them! I was so disappointed to find out that I couldn't merge the funds so I checked the shop menu settings on my Nintendo account and it said that I had already merged funds! so check your shop menu account settings if you're worried you cant do it!!

Uhhh an R4 is ONLY for DS games not 3DS games. To do 3DS games on a flash cart you need Gateway 3DS.
