i am countering this in logcat " E [SmsRetrieverHelper] SMS verification code request failed: unknown status code: 17499 BILLING_NOT_ENABLED" as soon as i click send otp , i didnt get otp , it says otp generation failed ......., do i need to add any billing account , but in video it worked without that. answer its important

unfortunately you have to enable because few times ago firebase has blocked all requests from free project but the good part is you just have to add the card you will not be charged until you cross the free limits
