DEWALT has announced its new TOUGHSERIES™ Construction Jack (DWHT83550), a heavy-duty, hands-free lifting tool that has a lift capacity of up to 340 lbs.* and a lift height of 8-3/4 in. allowing users to lift, level, and install, among a variety of other tasks.
The jack features a step-to-lift function enabled by the reinforced handle for hands-free lifting as well as a precision controlled lowering tab that assists with fine tune adjustments when leveling.

I own four of it's predecessor Viking Arm jacks for a couple of years now. These types of lift jacks are indispensable for a whole range of uses. For example, In doing a major living room/kitchen and main floor reno/gut of our side-split circa 1969 house, I decided that I needed to put everything heavy left we didn't relocate to another part of the house on wheels/dollies. These jacks were the bomb for lifting up and placing by myself our heavy metal frame with motorized recliner couch and love seat onto dollies. Being the only strong armed person in the house working solo, these types of jacks really make life easier with so many tasks. Yesterday, I was using them to tweak level drywall panels for that aforementioned reno job. Question, how thick is the bottom plate? The standard plate that comes with the Viking Arm jacks is 5mm and there are optional 3mm thinner plates available you can swap out to if needed. I also looked up the weight of the Viking Arm. They do come in quite lighter than the Dewalt ones at 3 lbs versus the 5.6 lbs you said you weighed the Dewalt's at in your video. That's quite a difference! The Viking Arm are rated at 330 lbs and I can attest to that limit. I tried to lift something once that I knew was 350 lbs, and the squeeze lever just won't lift, period.

*DeWalt should give the base a female cross-receptacle so it can be turned 90º for a zero offset, making it ideal for jacking things needing a 0" flush setback. Then the front of the foot would not be an impingement! DeWalt, if you make a revision, please send me a complimentary revised jack :-)*

The lifting height of this is rather unlimited, as one can use the two holes to screw on a piece of wood to the part that moves. Thus just extending as needed.

A trick to using your bathroom to weigh things as accurate as possible. Get on your scale and record your weight, then get on your scale holding the item close to your waist then subtract the two weights and the remainder is the item weight.

Hi Wacky Wabbit, thanks for the question. Although the handle does remind me of my Irwin Quick Grips, the purpose is for spreading or lifting material. If you just need to lift the gate to reposition it, this should work. If the metal is bent or stretched out of shape, you’d need to try a different approach. Hope that helps.

@@Jennyfromtheshop yep. The irwin lift handle is from the bottom which obviously takes out the option to foot pump up. Doing this type of content is hard and time consuming so focus on the positive comments and the others as time wasters.🌞😁
