This isn't exactly a sequel to the other two this is like a Saturday morning on Fox Kids there is no baby sibling in this one. This is another installment. a television movie.

Definitely a t.v. made type energy with this film. It was mid range. Good actors,mild film. We did have it on VHS and my younger brother loved it. I grew up with the original t.v. show reruns and the first two films. It obviously wasn't any of that same cast but so many renditions of the original cartoon have come out as well.

The actor who played Gomez in the first two died. The kids aged up, and the others didn't want to do a movie without the original Gomez . The rights were bought by Saban Entertainment (Power Rangers) and the movie was relocated to being a movie of the week. Tim Curry played Pennywise in the original IT movie and Frankenfurter in Rocky Horror Picture Show. He is a great actor but this was a terrible film.

Look, I love Tim Curry (Gomez) as an actor, there really is some very good talent in this movie, but this movie was PAINFUL to watch. I get it, after Raul Julia passed away, the other actors, from the previous movies, didn't want to continue with this movie. The studio wanted to continue but the writing and direction was just awful. It was like they were just going for slapstick type of humor instead of the classic dark humor. It turned out that they didn't even want to associate this movie with the prior 2, which it doesn't. Someday I hope that they reboot the live action movies and have a good cast with good writing and direction.

Raul Julia is always going to be my head canon Gomez. Its always very hard for me to see the other versions of him. Although I think the old cartoon based their Gomez on him. Which I also think they did with Tim Curry. Never understood why they went away from that design.

Uncle Fester reminds me a little of his 60s tv show version but only a little. I “think” I saw this once as a kid but couldn’t recall any of it. Looks like that was a blessing.

One of the reasons not many people have seen this movie is that it only got a limited release direct to VHS. No cinema showings, not even a DVD release! Only the curious naive few who stumbled across used tapes on eBay in the early 2000s were unfortunate enough to own it! (Yes, I'm one of them!)

This borrows elements from the Paramount films but I don't think it's the same continuity. This was kind of a pilot for the show "The New Addams Family" which is actually not bad.

Please check out the original IT, which came out in 1990 and was a tv mini-series. Which was back in the day when they made great tv mini series. The clown Pennywise is played by the brilliant Tim Curry who played Gomez here. He has done a ton of stuff over the years, like his character in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, which is a cult classic, released in 1976.

That's not really " a third one " because it's different actors but Raul Julia who played Gomez died not long after the second movie so they didn't do it

The guys who played Lurch and Thing are the only returning actors from the first two movies. I miss Christopher Lloyd as Fester, but I will say, imo, the Fester in this movie is a lot more similar to the one in the TV series from the 60s.

Primate, Addams Family is a rights issues nightmare. The original comic strip started in the 1930s, the tv show started in the 1960s, the 1990s two films are their own continuity, this one was made by Haim Saban (the guy who made Power Rangers) as a means of being a made direct to video sort’ve “proof of concept” for a new tv series based on it… and it’s bad. None of the incarnations are related in any way besides having the license for the original comics. Raul Julia who played Gomez in the first two films sadly died from heart complications shortly after Addams Family Values. His last film he finished was the live action Street Fighter film, and it’s not good either.

Ok, if y'all did this sequel (which I didn't even know existed honestly) I really hope you check out *"The Crow"* series! Nobody else reacts to the sequels because ppl tell the not too... I love how you all watch all the movies, even the bad ones, and I'd love to see your reactions to ALL of them. I personally liked them all (just none as much as the first). And I'm always wishing SOMEONE will react to more than just the first one... always disappointed. The first is definitely a great Halloween watch, too!! There's 4 total. 🫰 you will react to them.

Honestly forgot that this was a thing. That said, Tim Curry is a solid choice to replace Raul Julia as Gomez. Talented actor that has given us some fantastic performances over the years like Penny the Clown in the 1990 version of "It", one of the main characters of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", and my personal favorite Long John Silver in "Muppets Treasure Island" (it helps that Curry is basically a Muppet in human form lol). He also took over as the voice of Palpatine in the final seasons of The Clone Wars.
