They did that because of the Lugasi Dracula film. They did it for his close ups to make it seem like his eyes had power.

It was an old horror movie effect, specifically with Bela Lugosi's Dracula. It was a nice little detail that hinted at Morticia's macabre-ness.

One of my favorite things in this movie is when Wednesday is giving her speech as Pocahontas and Joel is standing next to her, trying his hardest to keep a straight face but looking like he's just stifling giggles the whole time. I laugh every time watch that scene. You know they probably went through that scene several times before they decided that was the best take. I love it.

What I found interesting was his theory about a possible third movie is actually similar to two episodes in the original 1960s television show where in one episode Gomez runs for office I think it was mayor and another episode Gomez gets hit on the head and gets amnesia and he’s acting normal towards everybody in the family

"Forget Me Nots" is by Patrice Rushen, not Stevie Wonder, but he totally gets a pass on that for even knowing the name of the original song. edit: I'm thinking he might have confused it with "Gangsta's Paradise" which was also massive in the 90s and the original "Past Time Paradise" is by Stevie Wonder. That's probably where the crossover switch happened in the brain lol.
