If people think this is too dark, then they don't know this family, I agree with that. I also agree that this is an amazing opening, but I do still like "When Your an Addams", mainly cause if you don't know the Addams family, you sort of get to know the family, and how it works on the inside.

I really like the intensity of this song. It's much cooler and more fun to dance to than When You're an Addams. Not to say that When You're an Addams isn't good, it's just not as intense. Intensity more fits the mood of The Addams Family, I think.

True, but in every version other than the original series, Wednesday was older. I seem to remember even in the movies, there was some reference to Wednesday being older (I can't remember what it was right now). Either way, in the movies they looked close to the same age, which goes back to the original point that if Wednesday is now 18, Pugsley should be older than he is here.

I will say that this was truly an interesting thing that was part of the Chicago version of this musical. Showing Wednesday finally an adult which helps transition of her wanting to get married and we find out why she no longer has pigtails. However, "When You're an Addams" was a better way to open the musical. It was more fun and if no one had never seen anything of the family before, it was a good way to get to know them.

I was fortunate to see the Addams Family on Broadway with Nathan and Bebe. It was so much fun to go see. But I really wish they keep Clandango. ;( It feels more dark and more halloweeny. But, When Your An Addams was very fun too and catchy. Everyone was great.

I'm torn! I LOVE this song, but I wonder if its just a little too dark for the opening to the show. Of course its not Like morbid, I just think that "When You're An Addams" Is just a little lighter and more humorus, and that maybe thats what the producers were going for. @BlueJeanBaby012 Yeah, that was my one and only complaint with the show. Although technically, there is a 3 year age gap (in the show, the kids are said to be 8 and 11). If Wednesday is barely 18, as mentioned somewhere in the show, Pugsley could be 14 (close to 15) and not yet reached puberty. It's not likely, but it is a possibility.
