When you were a kid in the rural south with no access to EDM, you just purchased whatever you could find when you visited any city and hoped it was good. I found this at a Circuit City when I was 15, hearing it almost brings tears to my eyes!!

HA HA HAHAA the funny thing about this mix being on KZbin is, now you can actually get to the part of the mix you like because, remember that the CD version was only ONE BIGASS LONG TRACK?!!? HA H AHAHHAA

That always drove me nuts, too.

@@brycepunk1 that "CONTINUOUS DJ MIX" concept got old quickly - but aged well you can say 😉
@CoffeeAndPaul5 жыл бұрын
@@cbrunnkvist yeah it aged about 1 year 😅 BTW, Frankie is coming to a club about 20 miles away from me and doing a gig with a bunch of breaks DJs right after Thanksgiving. I'm very lucky.

Drives me nuts when mixes are tracked. It's a journey. I don't track my mixes either. Take it all or none at all

I first got this track on a promotional cassette with Global House Culture's Vol's 1,2,and 3. The other artists were James Christian and DJ Pierre. A friend of mine was DJaying at Pier 70 in Seattle in '96, gave me a copy and said check this out! I'd load all our friends into ''The Happening Party Van", a '78 Dodge Van with the Continental Kit, and this cassette was our rave anthem. Then a little piss ant acquaintance stole it. I couldn't find the music again for 15 years, even though I still had the cassette case. But I've got it now and I am ecstatic! I've even been having our karaoke host play the tracks while he's breaking down, and everybody loves it. Everybody was dancing to it. I had no idea how many former ravers are in the karaoke crowd! I may have to bring glow sticks next time, lol!

Technically, Detroit techno was born down the road in suburban Belleville, where chief architects Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson met in high school. By 1985, Atkins had his own label, Metroplex. If Motown had been aspirational, then Metroplex, and the Transmat and KMS labels set up by May and Saunderson, were the sound of a future snatched away by industrial collapse. Kraftwerk, George Clinton and 80s synth-pop were influences but the melancholy undertow was all Detroit.

I sweat bones heavy...have played several shows with, and opened up for. I own every 12" I could get my hands on since the mid 90's. Many from his collection, signed with his graffiti all over the covers. Tons of mixtapes, some more rare then others,(5'4'3'2'1 etc) and every CD. Nothing brings me, and every one of my senses, smell, taste, touch, sight and of course sound, to one specific night back in 2000 then Global House Nation :Factory 101 is still the most raw mix to date nearly 25 years to date, with 202 following behind
