I caught my first trout on a panther Martin a few weeks back. I always used a earth worm till I started watching these videos and gaining confidence in the lures y’all use. Catching trout on an ultra lite combo and a panther matin lure is my favorite way to catch trout now.

Rooster Tail makes a color called Brown Trout, which unsurprisingly, is colored like a brown trout with a gold blade. Works wonders in Northern Utah. I always buy them out when I see them in Wal-Mart.

They also have a complete brown body one also that's called grasshopper that works surprisingly well in the fall.

I debated for 20 minutes today whether to buy that one. Guess I'll bring going back! I'm in eastern Utah. There's one lake near by that is super difficult to get fish out of. I've fished it a few times every year and I've caught Maybe 3 fish of 26 years. Many people who are avid and knowledgeable fisherman also have a hard time landing one too

Love my panther Martin. The exact same one. Hooked me a nice 35" 8 pound northern Pike on it. Plus various other fish. Love the gold flicker. I use it in darker muddier waters

Depends on your water. I have tried them all, but Rooster Tails seem to work best in my area. In fact, I'm going to go fishing in the AM. Excited!

Mepps seem to spin the easiest, I've found. But rooster tails seem to catch the bigger guys. And you definitely cannot go wrong with a panther martin. They all have a place in my tackle box

Brown rooster tail always a killer for me on the small streams here in northeast Pennsylvania. But this year the small black and white floating Rapala with the red face was a murderer. Great video. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Favorite in-line spinner? The Thomas EP Spinner. Catches more than just trout. Caught A 21 inch Largemouth, 12 inch white bass and a 19 inch rainbow. Those are my personal bests and I recommend it to anyone 🔥 I would put it at the top of the list over the black gold blade PM and the black/ silver blade rooster tail. And I recommend the EP Spoon!

Rooster trails for me always get a bite where there are fish. The action makes the whole lure wiggle and they tend to not cause as much line twist as other spinners, at least in my experience.

I've always had more fish caught on the PM. My second is Mepps. Use both of these lures for many different species. Rainbow Trout, Steelhead, Browns, Cohos and Kings, Smallmouth Bass, Pike and Musky. I've always found that the PM has out fished all of my other lures, species of fish didn't matter. All different types of water and conditions as well. Right there with you on the PM Jordan, definitely my favorite lures

My best rooster tail was the brown with gold blade but once they started making them in Mexico I noticed that they didn't spin as well.. I'd recommend a single point barbless though unless you're keeping fish.

I have never used panther martins but I found one in a tree one time. It was older and rusting because it had probably been there for a while. I took it apart and rebuilt it with a new bar and hook. Needs painted though.

I was fishing at a stocker lake for rainbow trout. I was using power eggs. They worked amazing on the last trip. But this trip not a bite. Switched to a Panther Martin and caught one right away. I like them all.

Favorites: Panther and rooster by far. However, I find panther better in streams/rivers and roosters in calmer water like lakes or slower moving pools because their blades take more work to get moving. My secret, catch the big one technique is to put the boat into a tributary creek to the lake I’m fishing and toss a bee pattern rooster tail into the tail out of the tributary. It slays them every time. At least it does in lakes in the western Sierras. I find that every body of water has it’s own preference on lure and color. I can absolutely kill it on one lake with x lure in x color, but get skunked on another lake with the same set up. Also it can change from day to day as well.

Original Mepps aglia killer with a #1 on the gold blade. Circa 1970's but can be found on found on amazon or Ebay. Expensive at $12.00 to $15,00 bucks for the real one in a green package but its worth every cent. Also what about adding scent like Garlic or anise? Garlic works amazingly well

The cheapest spinner from Walmart or Amazon could catch the most fish in any 10 minute period or anywhere. This proves and means nothing. I like Mepps best because it's made the best with highest quality. Yet they all catch fish. Use the one you prefer.

I throw siwash hooks on my spinners and spoons, half to be compliant with gear rules and half to snag less often. I like PM, Rooster Tail and Blue Fox equally! EDIT: I like boring colors mostly - whites, blacks, browns. Chartreuse to get their attention
