Daryl and Keith are some of my most favorite people ever! I've never actually been face to face with either of them. But I watch their videos faithfully each Friday and we chat a wee bit on the messaging board. Daryl's story is one of hope and redemption. I, too, have recovered from alcohol abuse. I ended up going cold turkey, which was very rough. But I came through it to the other side, in part, by focusing on my horses. I was, until a while ago, a ranch cowboy here in Montana. Animals do in deed bring solace and comfort. My horses were there for me everyday. My recovery did not happen overnight because I hadn't recognized and worked through the root problem. But eventually I did the inner work and the darkness lifted and I drew my beautiful loving wife into my world. Life just seems to get better and better these days, mostly because my one real job in life is to practice love and acceptance each and every moment. Obviously, it isn't a perfect practice, but I love and accept that within myself as well. Cheers!

Micky that's wonderful to hear that you have worked so hard to heal your body and mind and worked through the issues that were the root of your addictions. Well done. It's a huge achievement. Daryl and Keith are wonderful people and I'm lucky to call them my friends. Daryl is very open about his past and its a testament to him that he wants to share his story to help others and bring hope to them. Xx

@@ewetalk Daryl shared his story on their channel quite awhile ago. But his story brought me into their world. They are amazing people! …I consider myself very blessed. I worked hard at recognizing and clearing out a lot of garbage that I’d been holding onto deep inside. I wanted to draw someone into my life who would value and accept me for me. Of course, I wanted to value and accept that special someone as well. But if one is filled with dysfunctional energy, one draws more dysfunction into their life. That was my life, especially relationship wise. Each relationship getting a bit more dysfunctional, till one day, I recognized my first wife was my “dad”. Abusive, demanding, selfish and disrespectful. The marriage ended and I had a lot of work to do. And now… my life has taken a near 180* turn. My new wife is everything and more than I could have ever dreamed of. …Your channel is helping folk to recognize and heal. That is a very big deal! Cheers!!

Well done all for being so open and frank about everything X I know Daryl meant and felt every word he spoke X I have followed Daryl's progress on his and Keith's channel and I'm still amazed at how well he is doing and it still brings a tear to my eyes about how he has got through some really awful times X Keep up your wonderful work girls if it only helps one person it will all be worth it but I think you will be helping so many more than you will ever realise X

He is such a gentle human. It is sad to hear him talk about such pain and distress. But he has come out the other side and is a more "true to himself" person. No longer needing the alcohol to blank out the negative aspects in his life

Thanks for sharing your story Daryl. I used to drink and fell and hurt my ankle whilst sober and I thought in hospital couldn't drink and coped, I did fall by the wayside a year or so after but ended up pouring more and more drink down the sink as didn't like being drunk so give up, I worried lockdown would start it up again but thankfully never did, I would rather read a book now, I have been sober for many years and also did it cold turkey, would rather have a coffee now

I somehow missed this one. It’s so true until the person wants to stop it doesn’t happen. We can stand by the persons side and support them but we can’t will them to stop the addiction. Thank you for being so open Daryl and Pippa and Emma for bringing this talk to us. Take care.

Your situation was so hard Vicki and I'm glad you managed to survive and come through the situation you were in. They say it is a family disease because it effects so many people.
