Twelve-step addiction recovery and sacramental healing through the Catholic Church share key overlapping principles. Explore the extraordinary transformation that can take place when this overlap is uncovered and learn what the Church can do to minister to those impacted by the darkness of addiction.
Scott Weeman, founder of Catholic in Recovery, shares personal examples of how an active recovery ministry can bring new life into the culture of your parish.

Just started the video: I must comment that for a woman, food addiction is the worst... you could have a history of alcohol, drug, or sex addiction and men would still date you. But if you are fat, men never look at you. Please pray for me and all the women, especially Catholic women that struggle with food addiction and weight loss. Lord Jesus, Mercy! Amen. Thanks for the video.

Hey I am Herbert and am glad to have found this. I am a recovering addict after having spent a long life in addiction. I have been sober for 5 year with only 2 slips but am going strong. Being catholic in AA has been challenging and sometimes a little disturbing.

Thanks a lot, Scott, for this instructive presentation. I've been clean and sober, and actively working a 12-step program, since 1988 and I try to be a devout Catholic. Our faith truly fits like a hand in a glove with the 12 steps. I look forward to participating in CatholicInRecovery with you. God bless.

agreed -- I believe EVERY ONE falls into one or more of these categories and we can ALL benefit in going through this.

I am in recovery, recovery first for myself. It doesn’t matter how i look or how people perceive me by how i look.

11:00....then came the plandemic19, and by design, more addictions, isolation, anxiety, depression, eeeeetc. Legalizing opioids during the plandemic, keeping bars open (and planned barrenhood) but churches and gyms closed (which the priests should have had testicular fortitude to stay open. No, not easier said than done - Nurse here, we never feared/fear. When secular nurses didn't fear but loved and just did the job as we always did, but "devout Catholics" fearing and complying? We got problems!) Speaking of, looking forward to starting myself - my 'drug' was .....serving, loving, empathy, and with out boundaries, therefore narcissistic abuse and so aka codependency. I'm looking forward to getting to know people who are equally interested in growing, healing and having quality friendships of accountability..
