Some of us will never find true love. That lathe is lovely. Then again, I don't know what I would do with myself if I wasn't constantly working on old worn out machines that I have to settle with. I don't know how you guys find these machines. It's like finding a woman that hasn't been ran through, with a bunch of issues.

Beautiful lathe !. Remember as a kid, the Cincinnati factory a couple of miles from where we used to live in Birmingham ( UK ), huge place, mostly gone now apart from the original ornate office building which thankfully still remains. Healthy new year to you !.

Rustinox , Me to :) Over the last few weeks I did get a spot cleared out in my shop and got it moved into its new home. Then my mom got sick and we’ve had her in the hospital for most of the last week. She doing better and hoping to have here back home today before the end of the niners game :) Yes you will see it run one day. Gary

Gary, on items too big for the parts washer or blast cabinet, in cleaning up the painted surfaces, what solvents do you like to use? I would love to see some footage on how you do it. Beautiful lathe with a sentimental connection, looking forward too seeing the shaper come back to fine working order.

Hi Tom, I won it on a auction bid. When I also seen it on eBay I thought there was no way I was going to win the bid. Thankfully I was wrong. What I ended up paying wasn’t even close to what they were asking on eBay. It just shows that you can’t use eBay for determining a price. 😊

I watched again. I like the Cincinnati. What does that beauty weigh? I would guess near 5000lbs.
@OldIronMachineWorks5 жыл бұрын
Randy, in the background of one of the pictures you will see a green forklift. That is a 30,000 pound Mitsubishi. Shaper is just under 7000 pounds. That’s why I decided it’s about as big as I can go. 😀 As far as the Cincinnati lathe, not sure but not even close to the 7000 pounds the shaper weights.Although my big lathe weighs over 9000 pounds so maybe I could of went for a bigger shaper :)
