We get some good progress done on the layout and finish up some spots that maybe should have been done in the last episode! Of course I take you step by step with all the things I do. We also open up a new Walthers Cornerstone Kit and build most of it. Next episode will be much more exciting although I hope you enjoy this one cause these take a long time to make lol

Great video and tutorial of the progress you've made! The road you made over the track turned out awesome! The color choice you chose matched up like the real thing. Ive got 2 sets of the Commercial Propane kits and i airbrushed mine to get that dull effect. I also did some minimal weathering at the bottom to show they're been there for a while. My shelf switching layout is really coming together. My friend just did my wiring of the feeders and lights for buildings and street lights. Very impressed with your layout and the progress! Cheers from Laurel, Delaware USA.

Sir It's Allan again sorry to bother you I'm wondering Do you think I should use a Atlas Rerailer Track over the self-made Rerailer Track that you just showed us on your video? Which way do you think would be the best way? Again Thank you for your time Sincerely Allan
@TopRailroad
@TopRailroad 5 ай бұрын
No problem! I wouldn’t call the one I made a rerailer, technically it’s just a grade crossing since it wouldn’t work the same as the Atlas Rerailer. I would go with what you prefer. If you like the convenience of having a easy way of getting freight or trains in the track then I would use the Atlas track but if you don’t like the way it looks you can pick up a rerailer that’s not built in at all and a totally separate tool that you place in the tracks and then take off when your done. Hope this helps

I genuinely love the scene that is forming but I can't help but think you are working bass ackwards. Doing scenage before the rest of your tables or layout is built. This is how you end up redoing things multiple times that you would have only needed to do once. Like that road crossing. You made the road and painted only to tear it up to lay the track and then craft the crossing. Or maybe you come up with a scene for a different part and that would block your view of what you just built or maybe some of the scenery would feel out of place next to new stuff or whatever. It's just inefficient. I'm building my own O scale layout with my pops. We had 3 runnable lines on 2 tiers competed before we started any scenery that way we could mix and match pieces to try to get the best scenes from different angles. Once we liked what we had, then we drilled the holes for the electrical hook ups. On the first tier, we finished an oil refinery and have plans to do a farm a mine/quarry. On the second tier we are planning a winter town and a mountain with a rescue station. Happy railroading!
@TopRailroad
@TopRailroad 5 ай бұрын
I can agree and do think that sometimes but I’ve put a good amount of thought into what and where stuff will go (maybe not the road crossing haha) I guess I do things a little different but the vision will come with time for my layout. I appreciate the input!
