Another round of cool Dollar Store finds. Thanks for sharing.

Dear Jimmy, overhere we don’t necessarily have ‘dollar’ stores but euro stores. A quick browse often pays off, similar finds are the floral moss or lichen. Paint brushes, paint brush carriers, chalk paints, oasis (the green flower substrate sponges), cheap tools (although I don’t prefer those cheap craft knife sets, gotta be careful with those blades, and sometimes they’re just not as sharp as a slightly higher priced set by the dozen + in quantity). Best finds for me are cheapo adapters 230VAC-12VDC and lower, plus sieves, scatter pots (with several different types of mesh or round openings, and finally cheapo plaster of Paris. Cheerio

If you've got a model that got repainted and ya wanna strip the secondhand paint off it you can snag bottles of "LA's Totally Awesome" cleaner and a couple jars. Just drop the model in the jar, fill it with the stuff, shake it a bit and leave it in there for a while (depends on how much you need to remove). Note: this may damage the original base coat, so be careful. I recommend testing it on something you don't care about too much, or just using it on models you planned to repaint yourself anyway.

I love your dollar tree videos, makes me go run to the store, I believe I purchased and still use most of the stuff from the original series. The original series was the first model train video my wife would say I want to watch that too….

What a coincidence! I was looking around in our local 'dollar-ish' store and found the same craft knife set. They also had tiny bottles that would work for storing mixed paint. I always enjoy this segment of your channel.

not sure you have not already covered in early videos but if you are a scratch builder, I found a generic Legos I use the "L" shapes to square my walls and they also sell a base you can use as a foundation and cut and fit the size for the building you are going to build.

Aha! I was about to write: get a used blender from a charity store and chop the stuff up while shaking it. (We used to make our own ground foam from sponges this way at the model makers before Woodland Scenics.) Buy a couple of dollar-store sieves while you're at it to shake out different grades and you're in business. The moss as it comes is to "strand-y" and over scale, but I think ground up (however you do it) it would make really nice forest base in particular.

Aw shucks! I've been shopping there for years. And do have some of what you show. What the readers should know is that each Dollar Tree has some slightly different items than the one down the road. We once found 3 DT's on the same street in a city and was amazed at the different stuff each had. The moss is especially nice. Can be painted or dusted different colors and mix those colors for variety. What I found especially fun is that you can get out of there for less than $10.

You can snag those clear condiment bottles that some restaurants use for ketchup n stuff and fill em with whatever. Had one filled with the glue-water mixture a ton of people use for ballast and it worked pretty well. Stored just fine for several months in the garage too so it seems reliable enough

In the UK there's Poundland or similar. I had that rack for brushes but it came with toothbrushes in it.

I found a craft Knife set with 12 blades and two handles in a box like the one you showed us. One of the handles is very much like an Exacto klnife handle. From Poundland in the uk. I've also found small clamps and they do UHU glue and PVA glue both at £1.50. Haven't looked in the garden sections yet, so I might find some of that flower Moss you found when I do look.

I was wondering around my local $ 2.25 store just the other day. And I ran across something that I'd never conceived. It's a micro cutting mat. Same as those huge ones that cost a lot more money than we care to pay for. It's around 10 Sq inches. Perfect for just a quick cut-off.

Don't forget a supply of "condiment bottles" with the pointy tip. I use them to apply glue for scenery and have them labeled like 100 WC or 50/50 WC & water. So I can grab the mixture I need quickly when needed.

Cool finds Jimmy! In our area, dollar stores all stock different things so what I can't find in one, I will certainly find in another. Their craft paints are always on my workbench. Use them for scenery and finishing buildings. Great for weathering too!

I was looking for an N scale helicopter forever they were really expensive and they weren't all that detailed my wife and I were at the Dollar Tree and I went to the toy section and there was a little kit with an airport and a helicopter in it a metal helicopter at that it was perfect n scale for a dollar and a quarter you can't beat it. The cheapest one I found on eBay was $49.00. To make a long story short I now have a helicopter and a heliport on top of my Hospital.

Got alot of that from my local dollar store too. I found adhesive backed cork sheets there I am using on my suitcase N scale layout right now. Just find all kinds of goodies there. I even made a enclosure for my Morning gecko out of one of there plastic containers. Now and then when you find somethings there you can do a show and share. GOD BLESS 🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖

Hi Jimmy! I’ve been loving watching your videos! They are actually what convinced me to get back into the train hobby. I found a few similar items here in Canada. I bought the same knife set recently. And since I’m doing a ww1 trench railway in OO scale. So I found floral wire I plan on doing up as barb wire. And use it to add details to the locomotives

my wife had a little toooo much fun, we ended up getting a few of the hotwheel cars for our HO scale layout. true, its not quite right, but space it out enough, it'll be fine. Although we did love finding cutting mats at the dollar store, ended up getting quite a few of them. pretty sturdy little things, the crafting corner is great for small supplies just like this

I’ve been going to Daiso, which is actually a Japanese 100¥ shop, but if anyone else has one in their area, I recommend taking a look. Some of the items I’ve picked up include small hammer, a mini- vise (for very light-duty work, it’s all plastic), and plenty of parts organizers. They even sell small display cases/risers!

There are some wooden "canvases" for painting at the Dollar Tree near me. One is @ 12x12 in, the other is @ 12 x 15 in. And I believe they are $3 each. I use them as bases for my ho scale buildings. Trying to make them modular so that I can switch scenes up as my layout progresses.

I can't really afford the HO scale cars and trucks so I go to matchbox in the toy section at our Dollar tree I actually found some semis that fit in they were gas trucks and then I got one with a box fan on it so that's what I use for my cars and they're only$1.25.

One comment about budget craft knives: I find they tend to unscrew themselves, though I can't arbitrarily say they all do that. I prefer my brand name knives, but still have one or two budget ones kicking around.
