Jack I love your gift for landscape design! You are truly phenomenal. I first became acquainted with you because I have such a love of Mackinac Island. In the 50’s my parents took us to Mackinac every summer since my dad was great friends with the manager of the swimming pool at the Grand Hotel. I feel as though I grew up on the island and a part of my soul is still there. I grew up in Grand Blanc, Michigan but I married and raised my 5 children in a suburb of Grand Rapids, Michigan. All 5 of my children feel a great attachment to Mackinac Island too and they visit whenever they can afford it. Thank you for all that you do!

Jack, I am an Orchid lover. Your idea to just pop them into a grouping opened up a whole new world of design for me! Thank you for sharing your videos.

I also love bromeliads! Found your channel b/c I'm looking for unique display ideas for my broms and I love the rock garden idea but giving them the space to be enjoyed individually rather than as a group bunched together. I have a unique display for my neoregelia 'fireball' bromeliads in 9B.. last year I mounted about 45 of them to a large tree trunk in my front yard from about 2'-7' up the trunk. They are pupping like crazy and slowly starting to fill in. These guys need plenty of sun to keep their beautiful red color (without enough sun they go green), and mine do get the sun to stay red. It's probably a bit too much work for a commercial company to install but it's ultra unique and I get a ton of compliments on it so wanted to share for others in warmer climates. Thanks for your good video and ideas!

Would never have thought you could plant Bromeliads In the ground ! That gives a great idea for my front entry. A great thing about tropical climates , you can stick anything in the ground and it will grow!

Jack, I just discovered you thru Laura at Garden Answer. Since, I’ve been binge watching you. Love your shows. I tried your Salmon recipe tonight. Just wanted you to know how delicious I thought it was!! Since our home is alcohol free (my 45 year old son overdosed on fentanyl last year, 3 Narcan shots later and 30 days in an Out of state rehab and he is currently helping other men in a local rehab) I used balsamic vinegar instead of Makers Mark. It was still good. I retired from Brown-Forman who makes Jack Daniels and Woodford Reserve(my personal choice) so I’m sure the bourbon would be good in the dish and in a drink. Keep up the excellent design and entertaining programs. Can’t wait to get my hands on some AquaPots when they’re back in stock. Wishing you and your family the very best.

Gorgeous Jack and Chuy. That was my uncle’s nickname. I had always known him by Uncle Chuy and never knew his real name until after he died. Anyway - wish bromeliad survived here in zone 8.

Just viewed this one also! Interesting to see what was going on in FL 6 months ago 🙂! Love your tropical plant choices. Now that I’m approaching my 70’s I think I’d be interested in spending some time after Christmas in a warmer climate. I do LOVE New England though, it IS the home of my soul since leaving Michigan so many years ago...

Even though we Northerners can only grow them as houseplants this video has given me ideas on how to combine like plants in a larger pot so I don’t have so many individual plants in the house that look kind of ‘messy’. Thanks Jack. 87 days until spring ! 🇨🇦

Bromeliades r one of my favorite. Tried growing them inside and always a no go. So many different videos, still can't keep them alive and have tried multiple ways to grow them. Just broke my heart to throw them away. I'll keep trying. Thanks for the tips Jack. Hope u and your family have a Happy New year.

Love them, and I have similar weather, but I do get concerned whether they can breed mosquitos. We do have a big problem with them where I live. I've seen drops you can put in the vase but not sure how effective.

Fun stuff! I just bought my first bromeliad a couple months ago. A pretty green and “white” but it kind looks green and lighter green 😁 not sure of the name but I just adore it 🤩🤩🤩 zone 9 here so I can’t wait for pups!

Hey Jack!! So happy your in Florida for a few months . I just transplanted from Princeton, NJ area to Lakewood Ranch Florida and boy its now 1 year and I am still learning about Florida Landscaping!! LOL! I have a small villa and want to landscape out front with a Christmas Palm but trying to decide want to plant around it. I can use small shrubs and love blue, yellow, white and pink colors. Any suggestions for a low maintenance stately, neat look? We get full sun and the area is kinda kidney shaped about 7 ' by 8 '. Boy you have the best of both worlds!! Mackinac Island in summer and Naples Florida in winter!! LOL!! Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family!! :)

Can Bromeliads be planted in full sun? Sub tropical locations which is very dry and windy ? Would they need to be under a tree? How often would they need watering? Our climate is never under 15c in winter and very dry.. close to ocean , about 1k away. Can you also suggest any other eye catching plants ? I did think about the poinsettia plant but worried its needs shade and constant watering
