Wow!!! THANK YOU! I bought w bromeliad a few months ago and it is suffering. I am not a new plant mom- however I have never ever even owned one before. It is growing a pup. And it is looking rough. I - in my infinite wisdom- potted it in cactus mix. ... luckily it was only in that medium for about an hour before finding your video. Repotted it again- this time in orchid bark. 💜🌿 thank you again!

Keep in mid that if the mother plant is giving you pups, the mother plant will continue to slowly decline. Think of it as the mother plant replacing itself before it dies. In fact, it may give you several pups. Enjoy the process!

Thank you for this video! I was gifted a rather large bromeliad after my mom's funeral. It had a huge pink bloom in the center - like layers of triangles- and the dark green leaves are kind of fuzzy. I thought it needed soil and a heavy pot to prevent it from tipping over. I'll do more research to see if this bad boy can simply go outside and attach to something.

Bromeliads are my new favorite plant ! They add so much to any potted arrangement . I had a question for you ...I planted my first two yesterday with my potted sago palm. I built up their area with mulch and coir . Will they like this base or should I replace it with rocks ? This was a great video by the way , great information 👍🏻👍🏻

Bromes are so versatile and can grow in almost anything. Just be on the lookout for rot at the base.

I have a hard time pronouncing this plant 😅 and had no idea you water them in the cup 😮 great video and info.

Glad it was helpful! I've had some of mine for years. They just keep on replacing themselves. Once you get the hang of them, you'll love them...I hope. Thanks for watching!

@Crazy Plant Guy, You have a beautiful channel also. You love ur plants and it shows through ur well informative videos. @Peggie’s Plants, Beautiful video. I have always been afraid of this plant because for me, the plant will always die off before a new pup develops. So, I always say, “forget it, leave that plant for the professional.” Maybe, I will try again. Thank you for the video.

Thanks for the info, I recently bought a bromeliad and have had it under my grow light for a few weeks and couldn't figure out why it wasn't thriving. I always thought that excess water would cause mold, but not with the Bromeliads.

Bromes tend to be quite hardy. Most do better with indirect light. Once you figure it out, they are easy plants to work with. Enjoy!
