No worries about the skimmer. Put your macro under the UV and put the skimmer in the other sump section. Won’t skim out your pods that way. Tank looks awesome! 👍🏻

Those nylon elbows came out cool haha. Not sure if you should swap them out but at least you know the light is working haha. Tanks coming along!

imo much better if you install dc pump on your UV, so that you can have the full control on the flow or you can add a gate bulb on your hose. im having problem also on how can i put my uv sterilizer (same brand with yours) only thing mine is 8watts hob

Good idea, I’ll look into DC pumps to better tune flow on whether I’m going after Dinos vs Protozoa.

Make sure you clean that sleeve with citric acid every month or two. Mine caked up quickly with calcium buildup.

Wow, every month? Ok, I’ll pull it out and see how bad it looks in 4-5 weeks. Was hoping I could go longer than that for maintenance. Appreciate you chiming in. Do you run this same sterilizer? How long do you go between bulb changes?

I would swap out the nylon fittings. Nylon will break down when exposed to UV. It looks cool.

Good call, this is something I was worried about. I will get them swapped out in the next few weeks. I do really like the look...it brings some satisfaction knowing the bulb is burning bright lol.

Man the tank is coming together. Very nice UV sterilizer, those fittings should be fine and the glowing affect looks cool

People might suggest that you have the return of the UV go directly into the display tank and not merely back into the sump even though that is where the return pump is located.

@@geoffhunt7965 Yea that would be more effective. It still seems to work in the sump with all the water passing through constantly.

For sure, definitely the most effective way to do it. Im sure how I have it setup will be sterilizing the same water at times circulating throughout the sump. Having the outlet feed straight into the display is best - if you can swing it.

Hi there, the screws didn't pop out the back. The stand has some decent thickness, thankfully!

Make sure to replace the UV sterilizer bulb every 6 mos.

I had assumed I could go 9-12 months before replacing. 6 months really required?

@@zburnreefing The bigger UV lights you could go up to 12 months. The small ones are only good for like 6 months. Maybe 8 months?.
