The location of the original outlet interfered with the storage below so I decided to fix that. I added two outlets behind the recliners to hide all the ugly wires and save us some space:) Happy Camping!

thanks Brenden, I needed to replace a broken outlet on the bottom side of the kitchen cabinet. bought the outlet then realized how not familiar i was with these types of outlet connections. within 2 seconds of watching you insert the wires, I was good. all I needed to see. I should have this replaced tomorrow. thanks, again.

Considering the cabinet structure, one should use a quick install residential electrical box and avoid using the poor rv electrical boxes. It would be much safer.

I actually did that when I installed a designated circuit for my portable A/C (in the summer) & portable heater (in the winter). worked out great.

That’s a great idea just requires a little more money and weight:)

Hey, Brenden. Very informative video! Video's been out for 3yrs, how's the wiring holding up?

Thank you, I was wondering why you did not put a mid junction box and run your second outlet of it. I think it might have been easier and you would not have to break the tab of your plastic cover, oh well!

The tabs are designed to break off. No junction box needed. Just another point that can fail.

Why not use a proper residential box and outlet instead of the lousy "RV type" for the new outlet? You really need to invest in some proper side cutters!

I’m going to be doing almost the same thing in my trailer. I bought the same brand of outlet you did. When I looked at the connections I was like “what??” and couldn’t figure out how to screw the wires to it. Glad I found this video, what gauge wire is that? I want to have it ready before I open up the wall.

Any tips on how to put them in faster I’m just having such a hard time replacing mine I can’t put in the wire😣

I'm having the same issue. The wires do not want to go into the slots. I wish these would use residential wall outlets but the walls are too flimsy with nothing to screw a box to. Oh Brother this should be a 5 minute job.

@@mrunderhood I just used regular ones. I just couldn’t figure out how to make it easy on me!
