I'm currently working on a retrospective of the Archie Sonic comics, including many of the stories you coloured for. While I was doing research for it, I found this channel, and I just wanted to say that I'm really enjoying watching your videos. What you're building here is incredibly cool! Thanks for all your awesome work both here and on the comic!

I totally get the cardboard modeling idea. I build exclusively in cardboard, it must be the cheapest hobby in the world. I built a truck, a trailer and an pioneer tank in 24 scale, the kit was a free download and it took me four years of pure fun to complete...

The sidewalk castings look very similar to the ones that Bar Mills sells. Keep up the great modeling Jason. Your videos have improved my structure modeling skills IMMENSELY!

What an excellent comment regarding jumping around the layout. I agree 100%, as modeling skills advance the first section will not show as well as the last. I am going to adopt that strategy... thank you for that.

Have to say I love seeing close ups across your layout, so cool. There is a real fine balance between different ages of buildings and features such as the sidewalks on your layout. I don't know if paving slabs could be seen in the era of your layout, could include hopscotch chalked by kids or something, maybe cracked and broken, just a thought. 👍❤️🚂

Hi Jason, some really great close-up shots of the layout. I very much like this style of layout, it's giving me a lot of inspiration for my own layout. Regards, Paul

The layout just keeps getting more and more amazing Jason. Love that you are working the layout from different areas all at once and Brett and I agree with you that it does help blend together some of the newer with older builds as well as keep the scenery uniform throughout. Smart!

Dear Jason, saw you use those FSM brick sidewalks before. Looks great, although I think even with styrofoam, either scribed or single bricks cut, a similar result can be achieved. Scene really starts to come together now, very cool to see. Love the idea of the cardboard cutouts. Paper is yet another way to expand the modeling possibilities. Although I agree, printed texture often needs some work. Hence, the suggestion to combine it with ways to create the illusion of depth. Whether it’s several layers of cardboard and paper, or combined with foamboard and underfloor insulation to create accents. Very cool vid, looking forward to your next episode. Cheerio

Jason I don't know if you already started the trees or not but on the one you talked about taking out the pallet, I wouldn't. The pallet is a catch all of leaves and some trash. Might look good. Anyway keep having fun, Chris

Thanks again for sharing this. Your attention to detail is just incredible. The high rises seem like they are going to look great too, can't wait. These scenes remind me of my late father, who was born in 1938. This is what his world looked like growing up. On a side note, I have a question about 13:18. I notice there's a gas pump, presumably for the boats. But underneath one can see there's nothing there. Shouldn't there be some kind of tank or something under the dock, from which the pump is getting the gas?

All of your models and scenery look so great. My favorite way of seeing a layout is from the perspective of a 1/87th size person. Do you have a small camera to mount on a flat car to run through the layout? Thanks again for sharing your skills.

I think I would have made a mold just as a safety in case I changed my mind later. Way back ibn the olden days there was a company that sold mat board kits called Suydam (sp?)
