For the water color, the black underneath makes the creek look shady and fits well with the campground/woods. I would transition it to the lighter tiles as it exits that area into a more sunny area. I think using the fallen trees as a visual break point for some of the transition was a smart move.

I think you could do some really cool story-telling if you created a cave entrance from the hill side! A place for the campers to go exploring and treasure hunting.

love the tree detail... the cave should be a secret passage to a portal to the underground worlds, rivendale, castle medieval... and all other sets that dont fit the city theme

I absolutely love all the details you added to the hill! The water details are my favorite. One suggestion I will say is to maybe add some white cheese slopes to make a splash effect where you put the trees in the watertomakea splash effect. Just a thought.

Looking great! Finding a way to blend the black plated stream water with the lighter ocean will be tough but worth it. Keeping the ocean lighter as more of a crystal clear tropical beach will keep it much more inviting!

River water tends to be darker as it can be more silty as well then once it opens into the ocean it clears up. The observatory on top of the hill will look amazing

Love the rock detail on the cliff next to the creek! The dark plate in the water makes it look like a natural deep pool where the river and ocean meet. If you transitioned to light trans blue on black plate for around four studs before light trans blue on blue plate it might make the creek to pool to ocean gradient look slightly better. I’m excited to see how you figure it out!

Hey, two things: 1) I wanted to congratulate you on the Zoo build. Some of your most creative work! The raised walking platform makes it for me. The build just really felt like zoos I've been to. 2) I have some heartburn with those Venetian buildings. More water down into the city? It just looks awkward to me. I wonder if that scene would work better on the raised platform where Ninjago already has water? No worries though. You'll make it work either way.

I think the dark blue base plate that the lighthouse is on would be a good spot to transition back over to the light blue water near the beach

Looks good! Something I like doing now that I got parts for it, is use the older flower stem part with leaf elements stacked by 3, and angled different ways on the 3 stems. Makes a nice bush, the new stem part works too. Maybe for the transition into the ocean use darkbluesh grey then light, then tan plates

Add the flat spots to the hill like you talked about will really pull the shape together and how you can accommodate for the future observatory. You taking all this time to blend in your cities “sections” really sets yours apart from others. It’s modular, but it doesn’t look modular. Fantastic!

Hey Jordan, great work with the hill section, looks amazing, definitely prefer the brick built rock work rather than the pre-built rock pieces. Loving the cave and can I suggest a few Stormtroopers inside having a secret meeting and maybe doing some target practice! 🤣👍

You could add a lot of plants etc between the creek and the ocean as would be normal for a marsh etc to keep the high tide from running into the fresh water of the creek, also allows you to move from black plate under to blue under the water tiles...

I just love this build. And it is helping me with a water/hill type MOC I am working on. So awesome timing for me! Thanks! Love the two styles of rock work. The slope rock work by the creek looks awesome in that area but I think the more vertical area around the other sides using the BURPs works well over there to create that steeper look. For inside the cave, my ideas would be: a couple driftwood logs, a couple branches, some moss climbing up the walls, maybe a dead fish and/or skeleton and crab on the above water area. And yes, I like your idea of a treasure chest, for sure. Can't wait to see the finished MOC.

It's looking good so far! One recommendation for the fallen trees is to have the water cresting or coming up and over the trees. Much how fallen trees in river looks. The water goes everywhere. So maybe if yiu can create waves or white foam or swirls or something to represent the water turmoil, that might help make it look more realistic 🤔

I have to admit, I wasn't sure where this was going since the shape seemed a little unnatural, and I was wondering how you'd blend it with the creek with the relatively tight space. I have to say, though, it looks really good. The rock work is great, and the creek is nice. I love the cave, too. Will there be bats in there? The Lighthouse has that one bat hanging inside the cave in it, so maybe a few more in this larger nearby cave under the hill?
