In this #woodworking project, I add #drawers to my 1-Hour #Workbench. I was in need of some shallow drawers, so these will definitely come in handy.
Plans for these drawers are available on my website:

If you notice pocket holes in the drawer frames for no reason, it's because I had the jig set incorrectly and drilled them too deep. So instead I just used glue and pin nails. -RJK

How have the pocket holes in the outer frame which you screwed towards the edge instead of towards the center been holding up?

This is a pretty solid little workbench. While once you figure out how it comes together, it is physically Easy to assemble kzbin.infoUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh by yourself. But the diagrams explaining the steps are really pretty bad. I could not get the handle pins in all the way despite multiple attempts, so I just used a screw I had on hand for the 2nd handle. I could not get the first pin in further or pull it back out. You are supposed to hammer it in, but I had no leverage and the handle is plastic and I did not want to risk breaking it. I will get a lot of use out of the bench because of the convenient size and height. It does fold up nicely for storage. They even explain how to fold it so you don't get pinched...that is important!

That is smart to add the structural 2 x 4s at the end and therefore not to rely on the squareness of the original workbench. Trying to fit a drawer perfectly between my vertical uprights would be nightmare. Great video!

I really like that the videos are not filled with a lot of unnecessary dialogue. It is direct and to the point, which I really appreciate. So many DIY videos are filled with unwanted chit chat which really detracts from the projects. I also like the fast motion which is slow enough to see what's happening. Great job!

I definitely would have routed a recess for the drawer bottoms to fit into the sides so you could put a little weight inside.

Good plywood here in the states at the box stores, but we pay for it. I think the last time I went to pick up a 8x4 of 3/4" ply it was around $50 for the good stuff.

@@kristak9725 I asked at the local hardwarestore. They could order some in, starting at about 150 bucks per sheet D:

How wide and how long is your work table? I made last year but I’m going to make a bigger one in a few weeks. I’m looking into trying to incorporate some drawers.

I made my benches almost exactly the same. Some things I don’t like about it is that I can’t use my smaller clamps on the edge, and I bump my shin on the bottom beam holding the shelf. If anyone has a good looking solution I love to see it

Love this easy-to-build bench ! I used his ideas on my workbench frame. But there is one minor drawback to adding these drawers the way that he did. You loose the overhang on the front side, that you could have used for clamping ! You add some convenience and loose some convenience ! Allways a trade-off I guess. 😞

For that reason I left 4 inch space & still manage to built two 5 inch high drawers from bottom of the 2×4 top support.
