So true just you can go way over this with just environmental mods then you have companions, factions, new weapons, quests & locations to switch on depending on where you are and what you're doing. I found a hot loader that makes it possible to change out Mods while you're still playing so theoretically you can just keep on what you need and keep the others off untill you're in the right place at the right time and swap them in and out
