Is this real/is this going to be added to production
Nope, this is just an April Fools. Although, it would indeed be very cool if RotMG actually got to do crossovers with different games!
Why/how does the crossover equipment look so high resolution compared to regular RotMG items?
While creating all of the equipment, I tried creating versions of the items resprited into RotMG's 8x8 item style, but they ended up looking too unrecognisable from their original counterparts. While experimenting, I discovered that there is actually no limit to how large an item sprite can be and the game will automatically scale the size to a regular looking item!
How did you make this/how long did this take?
This is made on the UGC testing server, where certain closed testers can experiment with and create whatever they want in the game.
Everything you see was created in just under 2 weeks!

How does brimstone (and other lasers in the game) work? It looks like theres multiple projectiles involved but I can't tell if the "head" is spawning a trail behind it or something else entirely

The Brimstone lasers in the video are made from multiple projectiles spawned on top of each other, but they all have different move speeds so it looks like its expanding (with the head being fastest and tail being slowest). The normal lasers in game are completely different and they are just a line of stationary bullets spawned immediately in a straight line.

I actually tried to make 8x8 versions at first, but they just weren't as recognisable. I also think having the full sized versions looks pretty funny.

Unfortunately not, but it can be done on abilities by using how sheaths do it

This particular testing server is different from the ones used on Public Testing. If you apply and become a closed tester you are allowed access to it, but there's no way for the public to enter unfortunately. If you're interested in applying, there's a link in the video description!
