Kevin is a wizard with rocks. It was extremely impressive to see in person. Can’t wait to see how this mangrove looks many years in the future! Also, possum wrasses would be a great addition to this setup.

Looks amazing 🙌👏👌🤙 How come not use saltwater for the mangroves?

They tend to grow better in freshwater, and with that in mind we wanted to try and get this grown out as best as we can! Thanks for tuning in. -Blaine

Mine are quite happy in the tank, just keeps things simple and they then benefit the water quality. I don’t see the point of them outside of the system, might as well put air plants over the rocks.

Absolutely see what you mean here! Just utilizing this one as an aesthetic of the system hoping to create an awesome canopy one day! -Blaine

With the tap water do you need to dechlorinate it?

Not a bad idea to do at all! -Blaine

I was thinking about your mangrove. I thought they were mostly used for nutrient export . Interesting yours are not in the system. Is that because they don't remove that much nutrients & they grow better with fresh tap water ? Does it depend on mangrove type at all ? VERY Interesting 😊
@TopShelfAquatics5 ай бұрын
They are a source of nutrient export, but in their younger years they don't pull much from the water column. Im not entirely sure from mangrove species to species, but this red will enjoy hanging out in the fresh water! -Blaine

I've had mangroves in the back chamber of my waterbox AIO for about a year and they've grown 8-10 leaves each but are still only one stalk with no branches. I'm hoping for a larger and bushier plant eventually.

Time to do a little pruning! Don’t be afraid to trim them up to get some nice branching happening! Can be talked about in future videos when I end up trimming this one here! -Blaine

Do you fear a mangrove busting a tank seam ?

During the early stages I would say no! In the future it could be something to think about, but for now not a worry of ours! -Blaine
